Important Dates:

MVP Bottoms Up Invitational Swim Meet ~ Sunday, June 26th

This invitational meet is sponsored by us and is offered for the swimmers in the lower part of their age groups: ages 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 15.  The 45th Annual MVP’s Bottoms Up will take place on Sunday, June 26th.

This event is run by Co-Chairs Vinita Anantavat and Jennifer Curran.  We depend on every coach, swimmer, and family to make it a success. No other club hosts this large of an event, and we all make it possible!

All swim team families are expected to fulfill a work commitment for MVP’s Bottoms Up Invitational. Each volunteer is needed to run a successful meet. This is the largest fundraising event for MVP and our goal is to have 100% participation in order to make this day a success.

Check in 15 minutes before your shift at the Volunteer Check-In Table. Do not bring young children to your volunteer shift. Know that you are expected to stay for your entire shift. You may NOT hire a sub for your work commitment at Bottoms Up.  Any person who does not show up on time for their Bottoms Up work assignment will be fined $250.

If you have any questions regarding your job, please refer to the attached Bottoms Up Job Descriptions. If you have any other questions regarding your volunteer shift, please send an email to [email protected]

If your child is age 8, 10, or 12 they are invited to participate in a variety of roles such as: handing out heat winner ribbons, selling candy, food, or programs.  This is a great way to get all the kids involved and feel like hosts to all the other teams. Feel free to sign your 8, 10, or 12 year old up for more than 1 shift. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C48A5A828A6F94-bottoms

OMPA Ads ~ Two weeks left to get them in!

It’s that time to start thinking about supporting your swimmer with an ad in the OMPA program. We encourage you all to consider participating in this opportunity as swimmers love seeing encouraging notes from parents and friends in the program. It is also a wonderful way to spotlight your business with thousands of folks in the community viewing these booklets. Let’s support our awesome team and show that Marlin spirit! MVP’s SumgMug Photo Account

MVP’s photography team has been hard at work snapping photos of your swimmers! Visit https://moonhawkkim.smugmug.com/2022-MVP-Swim-Season (password: marlins) to view. The link can also be found under the “Photography” tab in TeamUnify. MVP’s SmugMug account will be updated with new photographs as we move through the season. Thank you photography team!

Awards/Ribbons Update

Family folders are on display on the deck above the pool by the tennis courts. Please check these a few days after meets for ribbons and awards. If a swimmer earns a gold time during a meet, they will receive a gold cap and a bag of goodies in their folder a few days after the meet. Gold stars will also be displayed above the folders on the deck.

If you have questions/issues with ribbons and awards or do not see your name in the family folder, please email our awards chair, Sandra Concannon, at [email protected] and she will help you solve the issue. Thank you!

Team T-Shirts/Swim Caps/Spirit Wear

Spirit wear has arrived! Please reach out to Belle Hammond at [email protected] with any questions regarding spirit wear. All swim caps have been placed in the family folders located on the deck above the pool by the tennis courts at MVP.

Needed help for remaining jobs!

Thank you to the entire MVP community who signed up for all of the volunteer commitments for this season! We are looking for a few additional volunteers for the few remaining vacant volunteer slots. If you are able to work any of these shifts please email Sara Megson at  [email protected]  ASAP!

Sleepy Hollow 7/16: 1 Marshall (Individuals seated at a table who sort recorder sheets received from runners, sticker ribbons and post results generated by computer.)

Commit/Decline to Meets

MVP families should make every effort to maximize participation in meets.  Meets provide opportunities for individual growth and for our team spirit to shine through!  Please commit/decline to meets online as far in advance as possible (at the beginning of the season for any planned vacations, etc.)  If you are NOT committed to a meet by the registration deadline you will not be entered into the meet. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Please understand that while we want to be as flexible as possible, failure to commit/decline to meets by the deadline creates a lot of extra work. Coaches need to submit team information in advance and greatly appreciate your cooperation in providing advance notice of swimmers’ participation.

Because of the fees MVP is required to pay for invitational meet entries, failure to sign out of an invitational will result in a fine determined by the MVP swim team executive board.

No Shows

  • Any person who does not show up on time for a dual meet work assignment will be fined $150.  This fine must be paid to the Swim Team Treasurer within two weeks of the missed obligation.  If fines are not paid by the end of the season, your right to enroll in the following swim season is forfeited.

  • Any swim team family that has not fulfilled all of their required work obligations by the end of the season will be required to pay $150 per meet obligation not fulfilled and this may disrupt registration for the following season.  THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.

MVP’s Bottoms Up Invitational ~ $250 No-Show Fee

OMPA Championship ~ $300 No-Show Fee
