Practice Procedure during COVID (2020)
-
Swimmers should line up at the basketball court entrance at the far end of the parking lot keeping 6 feet apart until they are called in for their practice. Face coverings should be worn until the swimmer is ready to enter the water.
-
Swimmers will enter through the gate where temperatures will be taken with a contactless thermometer. We will be using a separate entrance and exit. Swimmers will be sent home if fever is detected. A quarantine area will be made available in the parking lot for any swimmer requiring pickup
-
Swimmers should come with their suits on.
-
Bathrooms will be reserved for emergency use only by coaches permission.
-
Parents are encouraged to drop swimmers off. We understand some parents feel more comfortable staying, especially for our 8 and unders, so parents may stay in the Grove Area behind the pavilion, if preferred. The club will be implementing a bring your own chair policy for this year, so you may bring a chair.
-
Swimmers will be assigned lanes to maintain social distancing. This can be accomplished by having swimmers start and finish in different sections of their lanes (Deep End, Shallow End, Backstroke Flags).
-
Swimmers will put their bags in their assigned spots. They should not touch other swimmers' bags or belongings.
-
Swimmers should bring their own goggles, caps, and swim fins for practice. No borrowing of equipment will be permitted. There will be no shared equipment such as kick boards or starting blocks.
-
Swimmers will enter their assigned lane with a three-point entry. Swimmers must sit down and slide feet first with one hand guiding you into the pool. When swimming, swimmers should maintain minimum of 6 feet apart and not make physical contact with others.
-
Swimmers will exit the pool, retrieve their bags, and exit the Club through the new Club Exit located to the left of the Men’s Bathroom.
-
Swimmers should leave or be picked up promptly at the end of their practice time so we can get our next group of swimmers in the pool.
-
Swimmers are expected to follow the traffic flow pattern illustrated in the map below at all times when walking through the club during practice times.
