Our Stingray Summer and Now Fall!

Scott Loganbill

Great work coaches, swimmers, and parents, it could not have happened without all of you!

  • 6th place overall
  • Team Sportsmanship Award

Extra congratulations to all Stingrays who got gold times at OMPA and over the season!  We had a record number of gold swimmers this year thanks to your hard work and our great coaches.

Thanks to our Social Directors and volunteers who helped throw our OMPA party - not an easy feat with everything else that happens during Spirit Week.  And a special shout out to Shannan Tagg for a delicious meal!

You can find the amazing OMPA slideshow on YouTube (and here for a longer Director’s cut). David Glass and John Orbon are the photographers and David is the mastermind behind the wonderful slideshow. Thanks for the memories, guys!

Pick up your coolers

There are a lot of coolers left over from OMPA at the pool next to the coaches’ office. Here’s a reminder to pick yours up next time you’re at the pool.

Don’t miss the OPP Awards Ceremony on August 25th from 1pm-5pm

Please sign in on TeamUnify by this Monday August 19th so the coaches know to expect you!  If you are not signed in, coaches will not be prepared for your swimmer.

New this year: Coaches will be distributing Gold, Silver, Bronze and Blue medals and OPP Best Time pins to all of our swimmers who carved their name using a whole lot of bubble arm/breath arm to deserve them (Mini Stingers receive cool trophies!).  Brad will also present high point, coaches, spirit and other special awards.

Gold swimmers, please join us before Awards at 11:00 am for a special event - check your email for details and RSVP!

Fall Swim Season Starts This Monday August 19th

We’re a three season swim team, and it’s time to get back in the pool! Fall swim helps keep the conditioning up through the off season so we can remain competitive in the summer season, and also provides extra attention to strokes and technique.  Every competitive OMPA team practices three seasons a year; fall swim helps keep us in that mix!

Fall swim is included in your swim team fees so be sure to log some laps this fall. Coach Quinn, Juli Lopez, Will Layton, and Matthew Coleman are heading up the Fall swim season, which runs Monday through Thursday starting this Monday and ending Wednesday, October 30th.

Practice Times (Note: For swimmer safety reasons, fall swim is only available for 7 and ups)

  • 7-8s         4:00 - 4:45pm
  • 9-10s       4:00 - 5:00
  • 11 & ups    5:15 - 6:30

Times may change depending on practice sizes.

Fall swim is available for those new to the Stingrays for $300; please register on our lesson website.

We know our swimmers are involved in other sports like soccer and baseball, but if your swimmers want to stay competitive, move up to the next medal level and keep hanging out with their summer swim friends, you can help by making time for Fall and Spring practices. See you next week!

The fall is a great time to keep in shape and enjoy the tranquility of the pool with the kids in school. Stingray Head Coach Brad Allen will lead the Adult Swim Program, open to all members 18 and over, of all abilities. Coach Brad will help improve swimming technique in all four competitive strokes while helping swimmers build speed and endurance.

Fall Session: Starts 8/26

Time: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM

Cost: $150/session or $10 one time drop-in fee

Sign up on our lesson website.
