What a weekend for a swim meet!  The Dick Smith Invitational Meet was not the normal meet due to the rain and strong winds.  In my 19 years coaching at this meet I have never experienced such cool weather at the Dick Smith Invitational.  Despite the weather the meet ran very well and allowed us to see what our swimmers need to be working on in practice since this is an early meet of the PCL season.  We had some great swims despite the weather...which is encouraging.  Overall the effort...

Recap of the 2013 Season Palma Ceia Swimmers had a great season in and out of the pool!  The team placed 4th at the PCL Championship Meet with many of the PCCC swimmers qualifying for finals.  We had some key swimmers missing at the championship meet but the coaches were very proud of everyone's performances and achivements.  The team had many swimmers make huge improvements throughout the season.  Congrats to everyone for a very successful season. It's been a busy month for our swimmers as we had several swim meets taking place since our last news email.  We had a dual meet against Tampa Yacht, Countryside and the PCL relay meet.  We also had a cancelled meet (Emerald Greens) due to weather last night.  This coming Tuesday will be our last dual meet (Home against St. Pete) of the season and then we get ready for the PCL Championship Meet. The swimmers throughout the season have done a great job on showing great sportsmanship and putting...

Tonight we had a great meet!  The weather was awesome, our swimmers let the swimming do the talking, and we had a blast!  It's still early in the season and we are looking for some more big time drops by the end of the season.  Remember let's keep having fun and we will be ready to rock the blocks in Lakeland! I would like to thank all the Parents who were a part of volunteering tonight's meet.  You make the meet a success by volunteering.  We had 309 swimmers entered...

This past weekend the Palma Ceia Swim Team had some fantastic swims.  We had some races that we need to continue to work on the technique, turns, etc.  The key to improving is coming to practice and listening to the coaches.  With that said, I see the team excelling as the season moves along.  We had several swimmers step up not only in the pool but on land by giving encouragement to their teammates. I want to thank all the families who arrived on-time and had their swimmers sit under...

Palma Ceia Swimmers continue to show improvemen in their skillst.  There are many technical areas that we are currently working on with the whole team.  We are starting to see improvements in several of the areas.  It will be important to continue to think about the small things and it will get you ready for the Championship Meet.  Reminder its not always about first or second, etc...it's about your effort and are you having FUN! Keep up the great work!  Parents another great job with volunteering and getting your children signed...
