Chad Williams
Chad began his swimming career at the age of 4 in the Prince-Mont Swim league with his neighborhood pools, the Pointer Ridge Porpoises, and the Belair, Bath & Tennis Dolphins. Chad swam for 14 summers at these 2 summer pools. Summer swimming is where Chad’s love of swimming began. In high school, he joined Machine Aquatics which was a year-round swim program; and he swam for his high school, Archbishop Spalding. Chad’s love of swimming did not stop there, he also swam at Saint Peter's University for 3 years, which was a Division I Collegiate sport.
Chad’s coaching career began when he was fifteen as an assistant coach at Belair Bath & Tennis. He continued coaching in college at an all-girls high school, and he was assistant and then Head Coach at the Northridge Pool in Bowie, MD. He currently coaches at Machine Aquatics year-round. He serves as the primary coach of the High-Performance Group and secondary coach of the Senior levels and Gear groups.
Chad has a knack for working with children of different swim skill levels and he has a desire to help them develop both as a swimmer and a teammate. Chad is passionate about helping kids become better swimmers as well as helping them to find enjoyment in the process. Chad is very excited to join the Adelphi Family and cannot wait to work with all of the kids on the team.
Austin Rider

Austin began his swimming career in the Herndon Swim League with his neighborhood Kingston Chase Fighters, for which he swam 11 summer seasons before switching to the Four Seasons Tidal Waves for his final 2 seasons. He also swam for four years with both the Herndon Aquatic Club Commanders club team and the Herndon Hornets high school team, where he mainly competed in the 200 and 500 freestyle events.

Austin’s coaching career began when he took an assistant coach position with Four Seasons. He held that title for two years while he was swimming under his older sister before taking over as head coach for the next three seasons before “retiring” from the Tidal Waves and accepting a full-time position with Machine Aquatics in September of 2019. Since then, he has led all Gear and Senior groups at Machine’s UMD location and periodically fills in for the High Performance and National/National Prep groups when needed.

During his first season with Machine, Austin accepted the head coach position with Adelphi. The pandemic shortened his first season with the Dolphins and forced the team into a practice-only season, but the swimmers’ hard work paid off when things returned to somewhat-normal as the team went undefeated and won the Division B Championship in 2021. Austin is looking forward to another great season with Adelphi as the team moves into Division A for 2022. Go Dolphins!

Marcela Chavez

After several years as a swimmer on the team and a member of Adelphi Pool, I'm glad to be back for my second year of coaching. I'm looking forward to the upcoming season with the team.

Jonah Valverde

Hi, I’m Jonah Valverde, and I am one of the assistant coaches for the Adelphi Dolphins for summer 2021! You all may know me from coaching Pod Squad, and I have been swimming for the team since 2011. I am also a member of Machine Aquatics Club, and swam varsity at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, where I graduated this year. In the fall, I will be attending the University of Chicago intending to study Global Studies and Sociology. I’m so excited to get to know you and your families this season, and make it fun and rewarding for each and every swimmer. Go Dolphins!
