Teri Hayburn Head Coach

Teri Hayburn, her husband, and her five children are long time Whitehall members. She is entering her sixth season as a Head Swim Coach for the Wahoos. Coach Hayburn is the former Associate Head Swim Coach at the University of Maryland, College Park, Assistant Swim Coach at Villanova University, and previously coached BSR for ten years. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Villanova University and a Master’s of Education from University of Maryland, College Park. Her collegiate swimming accolades include being a member of a Division II National Championship Team, a Team Captain, a 12-time All-American, an Academic All-American, and earning Division I Big East All-Conference and Academic All-Conference honors.

Annie Hayburn Assistant Coach

Annie Hayburn is in her ninth season coaching for WPT. She graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a BBA in Accounting and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Accounting. A Greyhound Team Captain, Annie was a two-time Patriot League All-Academic Team Member, a two-time CoSIDA All-District Team Member, a three-time National Invitational Qualifier, and a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship Recipient. In 2020, Annie received recognition as Loyola Swimming’s first CoSIDA Academic All-American. Annie was the St. Mary’s Valedictorian and earned Scholastic All-American honors, All-Conference and All-County awards, and Capital Gazette Swimmer of the Year recognition in high school. Annie is a record breaker for Loyola, the Annapolis Swim Club, PMSL, and Whitehall.

Jimmy Hayburn Assistant Coach

Jimmy  Hayburn  is entering his seventh year coaching at Whitehall Pool and Tennis Club. Jimmy swims at the NCAA Division I level for Loyola University MD where he has broken multiple school records and qualified for USA Swimming Winter Nationals. He is studying Finance and earned the Army ROTC Superior Cadet Award. Jimmy enjoys spending time with family and working with Campus Ministry. He attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated as the 2018 salutatorian. In high school, Jimmy’s swimming career included 4x All-County, 4x All-Conference, USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, MIAA Champion, and a 2x Capital Gazette Swimmer of the Year.

Joseph Hayburn Junior Coach

Joseph Hayburn is in his third season coaching the Wahoos. Joe is a rising junior at St. Mary’s High School where he is a member of Student Government, a Campus Ministry leader, and a Parvis Scholar. A repeat Maryland State Champion, Joe has achieved US Open and US National qualifying times and earned Scholastic All-American honors. A national Age Group Champion, Joe has broken team, pool, city, state, and national meet records, including Michael Phelps’ 200 backstroke age group record. He has attended the Maryland Swimming Olympic Training Camp and Eastern Zone Select Camp. Recently, Joe qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100 meter backstroke.
