Congratulations! By researching the Skagit Valley YMCA Aquatics Swim Team, you have taken the first step in becoming a part of one of the up and coming dual swim teams in the Pacific Northwest. Our goal is to make your transition into the SVYA program as seamless and as easy as possible. Here is some informtion on our registration process.
NEW SWIMMERS
All NEW SWIMMERS must tryout BEFORE registering. A coach will have your swimmer swim several laps and demonstrate every stroke. After trying out, the coach will let yu know what training group to sign up for when registering.
Swim assessments are done by appointment only. The assessment is there to determine whether your child is ready for our competitive swim teams.
TRYOUT INSTRUCTIONS
1. New swimmers must complete a Tryout Request Form, which can be found HERE.
2. You will be contacted with a date and time for the tryout. At the assessment, a coach will place your child into the approperiate practice
group or suggest swim lessons to get your child ready for our competitive swim team. The coach doing the assessment will also answer
any questions you may have about the overall program, or direct you to our Team Manager.
3. Complete the SVYA Registration Packet and arrange a registration orientation with our Team Manager.
4. Stop by the welcome desk and sign up for a YMCA membership. You must be a YMCA member in good standing to participate on the
SVYA swim team.
