Practices and Schedules

The Chinooks Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Chinooks Swim Team to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

Practice Groups

Swimmers will be organized in groups according to speed, skill and experience. The coaches will determine what group you are in and set the time for your practices. Our team has four levels of abilities:

Swimmers are the younger and/or less experienced swimmers. Almost every 10&U swimmer is a Bronze swimmer.

The middle category is called Silver swimmers. This group is more capable and many will be able to qualify for the YMCA Regional Championship annual meet.

The highest level is our Gold swimmers. Gold swimmers are mostly High School aged swimmers or younger swimmers who have shown a high degree of skill and desire. This group will have designs and plans to make it to the YMCA National Championships.

Practice Expectations

The training expectations of all of the swimmers is that they should make a minimum of 60% of the team practices and swim meets. The more they make the better. Swimmers with 90% or better attendance are recognized at our annual year end awards banquet.
