Summer 2020 - What We Know

Heather Spinner
MCSL is still planning to have a 2020 swim season pending a decision from the state government regarding the opening of pools.  With that said, if we do have a season things are going to be VERY different.  This is what we know as of now:
  • There will be no championship meets due to social distancing guidelines and large crowds.  This includes Coach’s Long Course, Relay Carnivals, Divisionals, Individual or Relay All-Stars, Superstars, or Mini Meet.
  • The season will likely be shortened and with a different format; including the possibility of running virtual dual meets (e.g. each team swims at their home pool and records times). Additional details to come if this is the direction MCSL decides to go.
  • Officials with certifications expiring this season or next will be extended one additional year.
  • Our current Division assignments will carry over to 2021 regardless of what happens this summer.  We stay in H.
  • The possibility of current seniors to return next summer for a final season is TBD
Anyone that previously registered for the 2020 summer swim season and paid via CC will be issued a full refund. Expect that within the next 10-14 days. If we do proceed with a season this summer, we will modify registration fees to reflect the changes and reopen enrollment for those who would like to participate.
We thank you all for your continued patience and support as we navigate these unprecedented times.  We know this is disappointing, but assure you that we are doing everything we can to make the best of it while keeping everyone's safety and health top of mind.
Thank you!
