Rockshire Sharks Job Description

             Pre-Team & Junior Coach

Pre-Team Coach (PTC)             

• Must have completed 6th grade by Summer 2022.
• From Jun 1 to Jun 18, Coach attends Pre-Team practices Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 6:35 PM.
• Starting Jun 20 and continuing through July 15, Coach attends Pre-Team practices Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday  5:30-6:35 PM. He/she must notify Pre-Team Coach prior to any absences.
• Coach arrives 10 minutes early, signs in the attendance notebook and is ready to get in the water with swimmers during each practice.
• Coach completes training with swim team coaches.
• Coach reports directly to Pre-Team Coach and follows her guidance about how to interact with swimmers.
• Pre-Team Coach is a volunteer position. Time spent coaching can be used toward SSL hour requirement.

Junior Coach                  

• Must have completed 9th grade by summer 2022.
• Coach assists Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Pre-Team Coach at any combination of swim team and/or pre-team practices.
• Tasks may include serving as a Pre-Team Coach (see above), working with younger swim team members, monitoring and helping at practice workouts for swimmers who are 10 & under or helping with other swim team needs.
• Coach arrives 10 minutes early, signs in the attendance notebook and is ready to get in the water with swimmers during each practice.
• Coach completes training with swim team coaches. 
• Coach reports directly to Swim Team Head and Assistant Coaches and follows their guidance about how to interact with swimmers.
• Junior coach is a volunteer position. Time spent coaching can be used toward SSL hour requirement.
