Cost: $175.00 per swimmer

Location: Central Park Aquatics Center in Manassas.

Registration Info:

Registration can be found on our website: Register your swimmer(s) by selecting the Winter Registration button on the right side of our home page. You will be required to mail your check in within 7 days, if you choose to not pay by credit card. Please mail checks to: PO Box 638 Bristow, VA 20136--do not drop them off at the Iona Sound clubhouse. (Sundays will not count as one of your days). When registering, please ensure you are registering your swimmer based on the age they will be at as of June 1, 2023. In other words, please register your swimmer for the age group they will be swimming in the NEXT SUMMER SEASON. This winter season we have broken up the age groups for Micros v. Blasters. If you are a Micro (unable to swim 25 meters unassisted) you must sign-up for the 3:00 pm Micros session. There will not be a Micros session at 4:00 pm.

Is this considered swim lessons?

This is NOT swim lessons! Swimmers must meet the following minimum requirements to sign-up:

  • Micros: The swimmer must be between 4 - 8 years of age and do ALL of the following:

  • Be “comfortable” in the water (has been exposed to water and is not terrified of it);

  • Be willing to place his/her face in the water; and

  • Be able to “swim” 5-10 yards unassisted (doggie paddle acceptable).

  • Blasters: The swimmer must be able to swim across the length of the pool (25 meters) unassisted and be able to swim freestyle.

The Braemar Blasters coaching staff reserves the right to revoke registration if a swimmer is unable to meet the above requirements.

Can I leave my child during practice?

Only registered swimmers will be allowed in the pool, but parents are able to stay and watch as long as they do not disturb the coaches.  If you have little ones, we strongly encourage you to remain inside the facility in case your child(ren) needs to use the restroom, etc. Most importantly, this is not a drop and leave practice. Parents must stay on property either in your vehicle or in the viewing areas (upstairs, in the large pool, or waiting area with windows into the warm pool).

What should we bring to practice?

Please bring goggles and towels.  Fins are optional. We also encourage all those on the Blasters to wear swim caps.

Are there competitive swim meets during the winter?

We hold an intrasquad fun meet at the end of the season. If you’re interested in swim meets, please consider joining us in the summer.

What is the process for swimmers to apply to be a swimmer coach? Unlike summer swim, we do not have an open hiring call and will instead be reaching out directly to our most experienced swimmer coaches to fill the positions.

Refund Policy:

We will grant refunds on a case-by-case basis due to needs, minus an administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after January 1, 2023.
