The Ben Lomond Swim Team is a member of the Prince William Swim League and holds practices at Splash Down Water Park . We have been a member of the league since the inaugural season in 1973. The founding president was a graduate of the University of Oregon and an avid Washington Redskins fan influencing the selection of "The Flying Ducks" as our mascot with Burgundy and Gold colors. Over time, the colors changed to Black and Gold while the shape of our "Flying Duck" has changed by our team artists.

This year, 2019, we celebrate our long history and traditions by going semi-retro with the Burgundy and Gold colors and a special commemoration logo.

Since 1973, the Flying Ducks have been committed to promoting the sport of competitive swimming in an environment of community participation, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. We strive to develop our swimmer’s individual skills to the best of their abilities and provide opportunities for personal self-confidence, growth and achievement in weekly swim meet competitions. Above all, we want summer swimming to be a fun and an exciting experience for our swimmers and their families. Our swim season runs from Memorial Day through the last weekend in July.

It is never too late to join the Ducks!  Any child, age 4-18 is welcome to join the team as long as they are willing to swim.  Membership is open to all…no pool or community membership required!  Come out to Splashdown during any of our practices to learn about the team. Go past the main entrance for Splashdown and you will see the Swim Team entrance on the right, stop by the upper pavilion to learn more about the team.
