Summer Stroke Clinics

Summer Stroke Clinics provide swimmers an hour of practice dedicated on a single stroke, the start, turn and finish for that stroke, with a coach and stroke technician in much smaller groups. This gives the swimmer a chance to train on that stroke with more focused attention from coaches.

Summer Stroke Clinics begin on June 17, 2019 and are held every weekday (except Wednesday) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 8:30-9:30 AM (except during the week celebrating Independence Day, July 1-5). For that week, stroke clinics are on Monday (7/1), Tuesday (7/2), Wednesday (7/3) and Friday (7/5).

The cost for each  Stroke Clinics is $20 per week. 3 clinic weeks for $55 or 5 clinic weeks for $90. If lane space is available swimmers may register for an single class at $5 per day.

The schedule of strokes for each clinic is provided below:

  1. Clinic 1: 6/17-21 - Backstroke or Butterfly
  2. Clinic 2: 6/24-28 - Breast or Butterfly
  3. Clinic 3: 7/1-5 - Backstroke or Breast
  4. Clinic 4: 7/8-12 - Backstrok or Butterfly
  5. Clinic 5: 7/15-19 - Breast or Butterfly

If you select a weeklong clinic, you will only train in one of the two strokes available. Additionally, the coach will make sure you swim that stroke in the meet following the stroke clinic.

Wet weather alone will not cancel a practice. However, thunder and lightning will cause the swimmers to be removed from the pool and moved to shelter for at least 30 minutes following the last flash or boom. High winds may also be a reason for cancellation. The pool management has final determination on cancellation.Check the Weather Notification page for advisories and cancellations.
