Declaring for Swim Meet
It is very important to attend all meets. Swimmers are encouraged to attend and participate in all meets, especially divisionals. Because of vacation plans and other conflicts, it is understood that this may not be possible.
ALL SWIMMERS ARE ASSUMED TO BE AVAILABLE TO SWIM FOR A MEET. If you plan to go, you don't have to do anything but would be much more helpful for the team if you enter the information online. Our relay teams are planned based on the swimmers that we know are swimming at a meet, and is much harder to shuffle swimmers to create relay teams on the day of the meet. If you are unable to attend a meet do one of the following:
- Let your coach and/or Head Coach know.
- Write it down on our logbook (either with Attendance checker or at concession table).
- Declare your intention NOT TO SWIM via TeamUnify (follow instructions below).
You can also declare, via our website, which meets your swimmer won’t be attending. Please do so by the Tuesday before each meet so the coaches can plan for events/relays/etc. Here's how:
- Log in to your TeamUnify account
- From the Home Page, scroll down to the Upcoming Events/Team Events section.
- For each meet, press the Edit Commitment button. This will bring you to the Athlete Signup page. This will list all of your active swimmers and whethere they have committed to swim the even, declined, or undeclared.
- Select your swimmer's name
- Under the Declaration drop-down menu, choose Yes or No
- Optional: Under Notes, add any information you want the coach to see (For example, "We have to leave the meet at 10:30" or "Swimmer wants to try the IM if possible"). Be sure you spek to the coach as well in case this information does not get communicated as expected.
- Click on Save Changes at the bottom of the page
- If you have more than one child, repeat the same task as listed above
- If you need to make changes later, click on Edit Commitment and repeat steps
