Head Coach Camilla Brizzi

Hey everyone! My name is Camilla Brizzi, and this will be my first summer with the Sea Devils as the new Head Coach! Since age four I have been a part of PWSL. Swimming for Bridlewood until 13, then moving to Brookside until I aged out, swimming has constantly been a part of my life. It has been a passion of mine that only grew stronger when I began coaching six years ago for the Brookside Hurricanes. Previously, in 2018, I graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College where I spent my four years swimming Division II and getting my degree in Elementary Education. Currently I am working on my Master’s in Sports Coaching, in which I plan to use in combination with my teaching degree. With swimming having been a part of my life for 19 years I look to give those incredible experiences I have received from it, to my swimmers every day! I am beyond excited to start this season, and my journey, with Virginia Oaks!

Assistant Head Coach Chloe Palmer

I’ve been on Virginia Oaks since I was 9, and after swimming my first summer season I joined Curl Burke to began my competitive career. Since then, I’ve moved to Occoquan  Swimming and became the Captain of the Girls Swim and Dive team at Patriot High School. This will be my 5th year coaching my wonderful 8 and unders!! I’m also graduating this June and attending the University of Vermont in the fall to study Biochemistry.

Assistant Head Coach Brandon Settle

My name is Brandon Settle, I am 19 years old and am a freshman at James Madison University. I have been a part of the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils for 10 seasons, was a peer coach for 4 seasons and have been Head Coach of the Developmental team for 5 seasons now. My swimming experience consists of the past 10 seasons on VOSD, 1 season swimming for Patriot High School and 2 seasons swimming for Occoquan. I absolutely love working with the younger kids on the Developmental Team as it brings me so much joy to watch them develop as swimmers, advancing through the levels of developmental and eventually onto the competitive team. On the pool deck I try to be as fun and energetic as I possibly can to bring these kids the best possible experience on the Developmental team. I am very excited to come home and start working on another season with all the fantastic swimmers and families of Virginia Oaks.

Assistant Coach Ashleigh Farmerie

Hi, my name is Ashleigh, this year marks my second-year coaching for the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils! I am currently enrolled at Battlefield High school and have participated on their swim team for the past 2 years. I’ve been swimming for NCAP for the past 2 years as well. VOSD has been my home for 8 years and am looking forward to making this summer my 9th. I'm so excited to see all the familiar faces this year as well as meeting the new ones! I’m looking forward to a great season with all of you!

Assistant Coach Cade Burdette

My name is Cade Burdette and I am 17 years old. I started swimming for the Virginia Oaks Sea Devils when I was 6 years old. This will be my third year as an assistant coach. I fell in love with swim at very young age and have been swimming year-round for most of my life. My last two years coaching the 8 and unders has been a great experience. I feel that coaching younger kids is a very rewarding experience. I can't wait for a great season!

Assistant Coach Claire Thompson

My love of swimming started at 6 swimming on my summer league developmental team. At 9, I joined NCAP to swim year round. Since then, I’ve been to junior national level meets in the 100 and 200 Back and the 200 and 400 IM.  For the past two years I’ve had the pleasure of working with VOSD’s 9-12 year olds.  As a coach, I feel my number one goal is to instill that same love of swimming through positivity and fun.  Other than swimming, I enjoy creative writing, reading and art.  I am passionate about psychology and neuroscience in my spare time. It’s an honor to be apart of such an amazing team! Go VOSD!!

Assistant Coach Daniel Wong

Hi, my name is Daniel Wong, and this will be my third year as a coach on VOSD! I started swimming when I was six, and it’s been a passion of mine ever since. I swam on NCAP for about eleven years, and will graduate from Patriot High School in June. In the fall, I will be attending the University of Virginia with the intent to study business. My favorite part of the summer is sharing my love for swimming with the team and my swimmers, and I can’t wait for another great season!

Assistant Coach Melinda Wong

Hello, my name is Melinda Wong and I am a rising junior at Patriot High School. I have been on VOSD for 6 years, as a swimmer and peer coach, and I also swim on NCAP year-round and the Patriot team. I am super excited to work with all of the swimmers this season!

Assistant Coach Emily Copeland

Hi, my name is Emily Copeland and this is my second year as an assistant coach on the Sea Devils. I started swimming when I was five and this season will be my 10th year on the Sea Devils. I have also been a peer coach on the team for 3 years. Swimming and coaching have been some of the best experiences of my life and I am so grateful that I am able to continue doing what I love. I have been so lucky to have such great coaches and I hope I can help others just as my coaches helped me. I can’t wait for this summer and I look forward to a great season!

Assistant Coach Austin Bacon

My name is Austin Bacon and I have swam for fifteen years. I have swam on various teams including the Braemar blasters for twelve, Occoquan swimming for thirteen and my personal favorite Virginia oaks for two years. Swimming this long has given me a great understanding of the smaller points of good technique. I also love teaching kids how to swim because it brings me great joy to see them smile the same way I did when I first discovered this awesome sport.
