Head Coach Nick Inserra
I could not be more excited to join the Rudgear community and I am fired up to call myself a RAT! I am coming to Rudgear from the Scottsdale Squids in  Walnut Creek where I was head coach; however, the Springbrook Hogs swim team in Lafayette is where I grew up learning to be the competitive and social swimmer that I still am today.  Eventually I transitioned to lifeguarding, quickly began coaching learn-to-swim, and finally evolved into an assistant coaching role.  Furthermore, I am currently the head coach for the varsity swim team at Acalanes High School, where I graduated in 2014.  You will see my name on the record boards once or twice at both locations.  In 2019, I graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Studies.  During this time period, I enjoyed coaching private swim lessons in Pacifica while spending my free time surfing in the ocean with my two brothers.  I have always had a strong passion for the water.  However, I have an even stronger passion for helping kids of all shapes and sizes achieve their goals.  BLEED GREEN! GO RATS!

Coach Simone Ostler
Hey y’all! My name is Simone Ostler and I couldn’t be more excited to be back on the Rudgear coaching staff. I just finished my junior year at Texas Christian University where I am an early childhood education major. I swam on RMST for six years and then swam year round for five years on Orinda Aquatics. I coached on RMST for five years and ran the learn to swim program my final year there as well. My favorite stroke is butterfly and I love helping swimmers work on their technique. I am super excited to meet everyone, GO RATS!!

Coach Briona Robinett
Hello everyone, I am so excited to be back as part of the Rudgear Estates family for the 2022 season! A little bit about me: After being on a rec team for 12 years I know how impactful these summers can be for swimmers. Some of my favorite memories are of building friendships and learning how to work hard in order to reach my goals for swim team. My favorite strokes were butterfly and backstroke! This will be my 6th season coaching and I am beyond excited to work hard and have some fun with everyone this year. See you on the pool deck!

Coach Shelby Suppiger
My name is Shelby Suppiger, I am a freshman at Cal Berkeley, and I am a retired competitive swimmer who is still in love with swimming. I swam competitively for eleven years, starting on Springbrook, then on Crow Canyon Sharks where I was recruited as the second-best female swimmer in California to swim for the women’s swim team at Cal Berkeley. Some of my highest competitive achievements were competing and scoring at many Junior National meets, swimming to get just short of 2 Olympic Trials qualifying times in the 200 and 100 Breaststroke, being named MVP on the Acalanes swim team twice, and winning highpoint at Junior Olympics at 14. Outside of racing, I have been coaching for 7 years and it’s one of my favorite things to do! I love swimming IM, freestyle and breaststroke and I love mentoring young swimmers! Go Rats!
