COVID-19 Pool Operation Prevention Plan


The Elmer Swim Club Staff and Membership will adhere to guidance set forth in the Elmer Swim Club COVID-19 Pool Operation Plan (CPOPP) pursuant to Executive Order No. 153 (2020).


Staff will be trained on the following topics related to COVID-19: Knowing the signs and symptoms of COVID-19, Knowledge regarding the spread of COVID-19, Hand Washing and Sanitation, Avoiding Contact, Use of Face Coverings, Proper Methods of Cleaning and Disinfection, Use of Personal Protective Equipment (Non-latex Nitrile Gloves, Face Coverings, N95 Masks). 

Pool Director

The Pool Director will ensure that all Staff Members (Management / Swim Coaches / Lifeguards) of the Elmer Swim Club have been trained on COVID-19 awareness, cleaning, and sanitizing.   As the result of this training, Elmer Swim Club Staff Members will gain the capabilities necessary to perform their assigned duties in a manner that promotes the safety of both the public and staff. 

Safety Ambassador

The on-duty manager will assign volunteers on a daily basis who will assist in monitoring adherence to the social distancing policy.  Safety Ambassadors will encourage social distancing of bathers on the pool deck and throughout the facility.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) / Acquisition and Distribution

The Elmer Swim Club has procured PPE to include N95 Masks, Surgical Masks, Goggles, and Non-latex Nitrile Gloves.  Each staff member (employee) will receive a Personal Protection Kit to include a N95 Mask, Surgical Mask, Goggles, Nitrile Gloves, and Sani-Cloth Germicidal Disposable Wipes.  Additional Surgical Masks and Nitrile Gloves will be available for use by staff.   The Pool Director and Management will oversee the distribution and use of PPE.

COVID Awareness Training / Risk Reduction Strategies Documentation

All Elmer Swim Club employees and additionally any volunteers working in a managerial capacity will receive training regarding COVID Awareness and Risk Reduction Strategies.  Materials generated from the CDC and New Jersey Department of Health will be utilized for the training.  The documentation of this training and awareness will be kept on a spreadsheet and added to the Facility Plan Binder. Documentation will include a training / awareness acknowledgement “check box” and Employee / Volunteer Signature certifying same.
