COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

 

At Haddontowne Swim Club we take the safety of our members, athletes, and staff seriously.  In addition to abiding by all CDC, State, and Local health guidelines, we have implemented our own Pool Operations Prevention Plan.  Please review the plan below and contact pool management or Board of Directors with any questions.

   Staffing and Pool Facility Operations

  1. COVID-19 Training
    1. All staff members will complete COVID-19 training prior to working. Training includes, but is not limited to, the completion of the following CDC approved training videos:
      1. Understanding COVID-19 and How to Stay Safe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCdxsnRF1Fk&authuser=2)
      2. Demonstration of Donning (Putting On) PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of73FN086E8&authuser=2)
      3. Demonstration of Doffing (Taking Off) PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQxOc13DxvQ&authuser=2)
    2. All training is documented and signed by the participating staff members and is available upon request.
    3. Staff members include: Pool Director, TPO, Lifeguards, COVID-19 Ambassador, COVID-19 Contact Person.
  2. Designated Staff Members
    1. The following staff members have been added to help monitor and regulate COVID-19 procedures:
      1. COVID-19 Ambassador: Joe Mcniff
      2. COVID-19 Contact Person: Paul Preihs
    2.  The COVID-19 Ambassador is responsible for, but not limited to enforcing state and facility guidelines, documenting COVID-19 infractions, leading and documenting COVID-19 staff training, and revising the COVID-19 Pool Operation Prevention Plan (CPOPP).
    3. The COVID-19 Contact Person is responsible for, but not limited to publicly posting their contact information, responding to COVID-19 related inquiries, and communicating COVID-19 related procedures to patrons and staff.
  3. Personal Protective Equipment Plan
    1. Staff will be supplied the following PPE:
      1. Face Masks
      2. Gloves
      3. Gowns
      4. Face Shields
    2. Staff are required to use PPE when responding to an emergency or otherwise providing care to patrons. Staff are required to wear face coverings while in the club house.
      1. Lifeguards are not allowed to wear face coverings while on-duty.
    3. Patrons are asked to wear a face covering when social distancing is not possible. Patrons must wear face coverings while in the club house.
      1. Face coverings should never be worn in the bathing pools regardless of social distancing.
  4. COVID-19 Infraction & Police Notification Policy
    1. In the event of a COVID-19 related infraction, including but not limited to refusal to wear a face covering while not social distancing, excessive contact between persons, attempts to infect or spread disease (such as purposely coughing or sneezing at another patron), failure to use PPE, or other infractions that pose a risk to safety the following actions will take place:
      1. The on-duty COVID-19 ambassador will ask that the behavior is stopped. If the behavior continues, police will be notified, and the offending persons will be escorted from the premises.
      2. The responding staff member will document the infraction using the HTowne COVID-19 Incident Form (see Figure 1, Appendix A).
      3. Follow-up action may be taken at the discretion of the COVID-19 ambassador, such as suspending or banning the offending party from the premises to ensure safety at the facility.
  5. Staff Screening
    1. Staff members are asked to check for symptoms of COVID-19 or related illnesses before arriving at work.
      1. Symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea
    2. Upon arrival, the on-duty COVID-19 ambassador, Adult Supervisor, or TPO will check staff members temperatures.
      1. If temperature exceed 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, the staff member will be sent home immediately.
      2. Anytime a staff member is sent home for suspected illness, the on-duty COVID-19 ambassador will document the incident using the HTowne COVID-19 Incident Form.
      3. If a COVID-19 ambassador or other manager is unavailable, staff are asked to check their own temperature and assess their symptoms as needed.
  6. Hours of Operation
    1. Hours of operation are reduced to 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

‚   Facility Access and Admittance

  1. Pathing and Ground Traffic
    1. The club house will have a designated entrance and exit (for diagram see Figure 1 Appendix B). Doors will be clearly marked Entrance Only or Exit Only. A barrier will be used to separate the open space between the entrance and exit.
    2. Pathing and ground traffic direction will be indicated with footprint signage.
    3. Patrons and staff should always follow social distancing guidelines.
  2. Signage
    1. Required signs will be posted at the entrance of the swim club (for signage see Figure 2 Appendix B)
    2. Additional reminders will be posted throughout the facility and lawn signs will be placed in open grass areas.
  3. Transactions
    1. When possible, all transactions will be completed using the facility Venmo account. Otherwise, the staff member completing the transaction will wear gloves when handling cash.
  4. Facility Capacity and Guest Tracking
    1. At any given time, only one hundred (100) patrons are permitted within the facility. Only ten (10) persons are permitted in the club house at any given time (this in includes restrooms).
    2. All person entering the facility will be tracked by signing in on the HTowne Sign-In Sheet (see Figure 2 Appendix A).
    3. Following state guidelines, the maximum bather load of the main pool is reduced to one hundred forty-nine (149) swimmers. The maximum bather load of the wading pool is reduced to eighteen (18) swimmers.
    4. All persons entering the facility must sign the HTowne COVID-19 Waiver (see Figure 3-4 Appendix A).
  5. External Rentals
    1. All external rentals (swim organizations, lifeguard training, camps, or other external group rentals) and their guests must adhere to the HTowne CPOPP guidelines.
    2. All persons entering the facility as a part of an external rental must sign the HTowne COVID-19 Waiver.
    3. External Rentals will not be scheduled during regular operating hours.
    4. Rentals must stay within their designated rental area.
    5. All guests of external rentals must adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines set by the state, facility, or other authorities pertaining to the renting party (e.g. youth camps, swim teams, etc.).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ƒ   Infection Control Strategy

  1. Containment and Emergency Procedures
    1. If a staff member or patron shows signs of COVID-19, the on-duty COVID-19 ambassador or other available staff member will move the persons to the first-aid room. Nearby patrons and staff will be asked to stay at least six feet away from the first-aid station while staff waits for emergency medical services.
    2. If the suspected COVID-19 infected persons refuses care, they will be removed from the facility immediately.
    3. All suspected cases of COVID-19 will be documented using the HTowne COVID-19 Incident Form.
    4. In the event of an evacuation, the existing evacuation plan as described in the aquatic facility plan will be used. Patrons are reminded to socially distance while evacuating the facility.
  2. Cleaning and Disinfection
    1. Staff will continue to follow sanitation practices enforced by the local health authorities as described in the aquatic facility plan, including but not limited to cleaning restrooms hourly, testing pool chemicals bihourly, cleaning recreational equipment daily, and document fecal exposure incidents.
    2. In addition to regular cleaning procedures, the following action will be taken:
      1. Free standing hand sanitizing stations or sanitizing pump bottles will be placed at the main entrance, front desk, first-aid room, pavilion sink and counter area, and wading pool area.
      2. The following areas will be sanitized by staff members on an hourly basis unless those areas have not been used: pool ladders, diving board handles, slide handles, gate handles, non-wood handles on playgrounds, first-aid room, bathroom sink handles, countertops, paper towel dispensers, stall door handles, toilet paper holders, toilets, front desk counter, writing utensils, snack bar counter, pavilion kitchen area, and any other high-risk areas.
  3. Furniture, Pool Toys, and other Equipment
    1. Furniture
      1. Lounge Chairs will be stored inside a barricaded area outside the clubhouse and moved for patron use at request only. All lounge chairs will be sanitized after each use.
      2. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Staff will sanitize tables and chairs after each use. To indicate that the furniture is clean, staff will tilt the chairs against the table.
      3. Wooden picnic tables will be sanitized daily. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own disposable tablecloth to prevent the spread of disease on picnic tables.
    2. Pool Toys
      1. Staff are not permitted to provide patrons any form of pool equipment, pool toys, sports equipment, or any other sharable item of any kind.
      2. Patrons may bring their own equipment for their own use. If equipment is noticeably being shared between patrons, staff should document the infraction using the HTowne COVID-19 Incident Form.
    3. Other Equipment
      1. Staff are not permitted to provide patrons any cooking utensils, cleaners, or other equipment of any kind.
      2. Grills may be used, but only one family at a time. No cooking equipment provided.

„   Restroom and Shower Access

  1. Restroom Access
    1. All persons must wear foot coverings in the restrooms.
    2. No more than ten (10) persons are permitted in the restrooms and club house at any given time.
  2. Shower Access
    1. All persons must wear foot coverings in the shower area.
    2. Only two (2) persons are permitted in the shower area at any given time.
    3. Shower handles will be sanitized after each usage.
    4. All persons are asked to shower before and after entering the bathing pools to reduce the spread of disease as suggest by the local health authorities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

…   Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Social Distancing Policies

  1. Face Coverings
    1. Staff must wear face coverings when cleaning, monitoring the front desk, handling snack bar items, or completing transactions.
    2. Lifeguards are not permitted to wear face coverings while on surveillance duty.
    3. Patrons over the age of three (3) are required to wear face coverings while inside the club house. They are encouraged to wear face coverings while at the facility unless entering the bathing pools.
    4. Face coverings are not permitted in the bathing pools at any time.
    5. Persons under the age of two are not permitted to wear face coverings in the facility.
  2. Gloves
    1. Staff are required to wear gloves when completing snack bar purchases, completing transactions, providing first-aid care, or when coming in any other form of contact with a patron outside of the bathing pools.
    2. Staff are required to frequently wash their hands even if gloves are also being used.
  3. Social Distancing
    1. All persons must socially distance at the facility unless first-aid care is being provided.
    2. Floor markers and other indicators will be used to measure a six-foot distance inside the club house.
    3. All picnic tables and other furniture items will be placed a minimum of six feet apart.
    4. Lawn signs will be placed in the open grass areas to remind patrons to socially distance.

†   Communication Plan

  1. Announcements
    1. Staff will remind all persons in the facility to follow social distancing guidelines regularly.
    2. The on-duty COVID-19 ambassador will remind and enforce COVID-19 policy at the facility.
  2. COVID-19 Pool Operation Prevention Plan Availability
    1. The facility CPOPP will be clearly posted at the entrance of the facility.
    2. All persons may request a copy of the CPOPP to view.
    3. All guidelines will be posted on the facility website and social media pages.
  3. Signage
    1. Required signs will be posted at the entrance of the swim club (for signage see Figure 2 Appendix B)
    2. Additional reminders will be posted throughout the facility and lawn signs will be placed in open grass areas.
