Home of the Swarthmore SeaSharks

The Swarthmore Swim Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Swarthmore Sea Sharks + Sea Colts to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

All Sea Sharks and Sea Colts must be members of the Swarthmore Swim Club.  Dues to join the swim or dive team are $100 per person.  Additional expenses include purchasing a team suit.  Families are also asked to donate their time to support the meets and your participation is greatly appreciated!

2021 TEAM REGISTRATION IS LIVE! Please follow this link to register your swimmers and divers for this 2021 season:

You must be logged into your account on the SSC website in order to access the registration form. If you do not have an account, please create one.  Note: This is a new system and unrelated to our membership system, so if you are new to the swim team, you will need to create an account.  Also, using a computer vs. a phone may be necessary. Please respond by Monday, May 24th to allow time for coaching staff to develop the practice schedules.

Fees: $100 per swimmer fee (checks only). FYI Sea Colts fee will be $75.  If you are unsure if your child will be Shark or a Colt, you can wait until after evaluations to make your payment.

Welcome to our new head swim coach, Caitlin McDonough

Swarthmore Swim Club is pleased to welcome veteran swimmer and coach, Caitlin McDonough, as the new head swim coach of the Swarthmore Sea Sharks!

Caitlin is a Delaware County native who grew up swimming at Aronimink Swim Club in the SSL. She attended George Mason University and West Chester University, and is currently a Chemistry teacher at Conestoga High School. She has coached at Aronimink Swim Club, the Lansdowne YMCA, Haverford High School and the Philadelphia Country Club, and coaches in the winter at Radnor Aquatic Club. We are 100% excited to have her lead the SeaSharks this season.

- All swimmers who finished the 2019 season as a SeaColt (did not swim in at least one JV meet) and all new swimmers ages 10 and under must undergo evaluation by the SSC Coaching Staff on Friday, May 28th at 4:00 p.m. at Swarthmore Swim Club

All orders for caps are due by Monday May 10th and all suit orders are due by Monday, May 24th. Please use this link from The Swim Shop for all ordering information:

Please contact Amy Bergstrom ([email protected])  with any other registration questions.

Thanks to those of you who were able to attend Wednesday’s meeting!  It was great meeting all of you.  I am looking forward to getting to know the rest of the SSC families in the upcoming season.

A few reminders:

New Swimmer Evaluations – Friday, May 28th at 4:00 pm

All NEW swimmers under the age of 10 and any returning SeaColts must complete an evaluation to determine practice group.  Please be sure to attend this Friday if your swimmer will be a new SeaShark this season.

Evening Practices starting 6/21 – We will be offering evening practices in addition to daytime practices starting on June 21st.  These evening practices are reserved for swimmers who cannot otherwise attend the daytime practices.  They are not an alternative or substitute for swimmers who are able to attend the daytime practices.  If your child is committing to evening practices, please send me their name (first & last) and age if you have not done so already.  I would like to have a firm list of swimmers who are committing to evening practice for the duration of the season by the end of the week, so I can reserve the lane space needed for these practices as space is limited.

You do not need to email me if your child will be attending daytime practice.  I will send out an updated practice schedule once I have the commitments from families.

Swimmers training with other clubs – If your child will be participating in long course training or other training with a club team this summer and will not be attending SSC practice regularly, please email me their name (first & last) and their age.  I am fine with this as long as they are practicing somewhere.  It will be assumed that these swimmers will be available for meets.

The swim team will be following the policies and procedures established by the board.  As regulations are constantly changing, we will be providing updates as they come our way.

My goal for this summer is for your children to be safe, have fun, and enjoy being part of the swim team again!  I am looking forward to great season and can’t wait to get started!

Go SeaSharks!
