BLUE RIDGE WATER POLO - 2022 SEASON
Blue Ridge Water Polo is back for summer 2022, with a full season of practices and competition! Scroll down for the schedule.
Note: Beginning August 17, evening practices will move one hour earlier to 7pm.
Team Info
If you are new to the team, welcome and rest assured that the team’s emphasis is on fun, enjoyable competition with a focus on learning the basics of the sport. We have a tremendous coaching staff who love to teach while making practices fun and supportive.
Eligibility
The team is open both to residents and non-residents of Blue Ridge. The league allows this because there is so little water polo available in the area.
Boys and girls age 6 through high school are welcome. Players should be comfortable swimming the length of the pool without assistance.
Time Commitment
We understand that summers are packed with other fun activities. Come when you can, as much as you can. If you join us after the start of the season - that is fine. If you have to miss a week or two, that works also.
We offer two practices a day in August. We do this to better accommodate sleep/camp/work schedules. Players are welcome to come twice a day but there is no expectation that they will do so.
The one time that we ask as many players to be there as possible is during playoff games in the last week of August, so that we are able to field teams in as many age groups as possible.
League Info
The water polo league consists of 10-12 teams in the north end and south end of Seattle. Nearly all of our games are against north end teams such as View Ridge and Innis Arden. Typically, the only time we play south end teams is the final week of playoffs..
Age Groups
We play in age groups starting with the 10 and unders and up through high school. Most games are co-ed, although there are a number of games just for girls.
A player’s age group is determined by their age on June 15th.
“Preseason” Practice Schedule
We refer to this as the preseason because the schedule is limited and many kids don’t join us due to other commitments and/or the late practices.

Game Schedule
Throughout the month of August, we will play games against other north end clubs. Players 13 and up play Tuesday and Thursday evenings during August while those 12 and younger play on Friday mornings.
12 and under (10u and 12u games) | 13 and up (14u and 18u games) |
---|---|

Typically, we ask players to play in their age group plus the next group above. This means that a 10-year old might play the 10 and under game and the 12 and under game. But if players are uncomfortable playing older kids, there is zero pressure to do so.
Playoff Schedule
Playoffs run from August 28 - September 1. This is the one time of the season we try to get as many players available as possible. So . . . if you are planning camps and vacations and have some flexibility, keep water polo in mind!
