Updates and Announcements

Assistant Manager @Marine Hills Pool

 Dear Fish and Tree Families,

I hope everyone is doing well. I wish to direct your attention to some important pool updates regarding (1) 2020 membership signups, (2) lap/open swim signups, (3) swim team registration, (4), volunteer hours and (5) miscellaneous items.

2020 Membership Options/Next Steps:

We are extending membership renewal for existing/returning members to June 30 (was June 28).  There is no need to register if you are returning. Simply log on to your account on the Marine Hills website and enter a credit card.  You may also pay by check.  Please be sure to email [email protected] if you are paying with a check.  If you do not pay your membership by June 30, we will assume you are canceling it for the season.  As we are still operating under the COVID-19 phase structure, we may need to consider having a wait list to be in compliance with the allowable occupancy rates.

Lap Swim and Open Swim:

As a reminder, we will have the pool opened this Saturday and Sunday for members only. We are permitted to open the pool by appointment-only according to the COVID-19 State Guidelines.  Additionally, we are limited to operating under 25% occupancy; thus, only 21 members will be permitted to use the pool at any given time. Please be advised that we are not allowing guests to be at the pool for the time being.

To be in compliance with the State requirements, events for Open/Lap Swims have been created on the Marine Hills website. Once you sign into your account, select the day and time slots by clicking “job sign up”, and be sure to check the boxes for each person in your family that you will be bringing to the pool (NOTE:  each swimmer has to be accounted for on your sign up for auditing purposes). If you are not swimming, you do not need to sign up; only those who will be entering the pool need to be officially signed up. Six-foot physical distancing must be maintained by EVERYONE when at the facility, whether in the pool or not.  Please be advised that if sessions are not filled within two (2) hours of closing, the remaining afternoon session will be cancelled as a cost saving measure.

We are looking to expand pool usage on weekdays and on Friday nights, so please be on the look out for those communications and sign ups in the coming weeks.

 Swim Team Registration:

Fish and Tree Swim Team practices have begun!  To register, log on to your account on the Marine Hills website. Once you sign into your account, go to “Upcoming Events”, select “2020 Swim Team Registration” and follow the registration prompts.  If you registered last week but did not pay, you may now do so online or by check.  Practice schedules are posted online.  Please contact Coach Tori at [email protected] with any questions.

Volunteer Hours:

To comply with the Governor’s Stay Home Order, we have not been able to schedule work parties.  However, we still need help with maintaining the grounds and are encouraging members to contact us to make arrangements for the much-needed work around the pool.  Please email Fred Moore at [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering. Another point of contact is Wes Campos at  [email protected].

We are eagerly anticipating King County's progression into the more advanced stages of reopening. With Phase 3 just beyond the horizon, plans to accomodate some of the fun social events we know and love ( Ladies Night, Men’s Night, Movie Night, Pig Roast and Chili Cookout to name a few) are actively in the works. More details to come.

As a freindly reminder, for the safety of our members and Marine Hills neighbors, please be courteous and mindful of traffic speed limits in the area. With the summer months enticing more children and families outdoors, the adherence to speed laws couldn't be more crucial to the welfare of our community.

Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate through these unprecedented times. I warmly invite any questions or concerns regarding the above information. You may contact me at [email protected]

Go Fish and Tree!
