2021 Swim Team Coaches

Tori Head - Head Coach
We are so pleased to announce that Coach Tori will be entering into her 3rd season as Head Coach for the Marine Hills Swim Team! Tori attended Central Washington University - Des Moines where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Law and Justice. Tori has always had a passion for people and loves that she gets to make a difference in others lives!
Tori’s swim background consists of swimming for KING (7 years) and Decatur High School (4 years), Blue Wave Masters (1 year).  Tori’s coaching career started by volunteer coaching for Decatur high school where she and her sister swam. She was shortly hired on as an assistant coach at Todd Beamer High School and Twin Lakes Summer League Team. She then became a full time coach for KING Aquatic Club and also took on Head Coaching Positions at Thomas Jefferson High School, and of course our beloved Marine Hills. Some of Tori’s accomplishments include back to back undefeated NPSL Division Champions at Thomas Jefferson (2019-20), NPSL Coach of the Year (2020), ASCA level 2 certified and level 3 education certified. Tori has coached several youth swimmers to Champs, Regionals, and Zones Championship Meets.
Something you may not know about Coach Tori is that she loves to gift wrap. She even has her own Pinterest Page of items she has personally wrapped!
Coach Tori would like to say: “I am so humbled to be coaching yet another year at Marine Hills, it feels like just yesterday I was sitting down with the board talking about moving from being a Penguin to becoming a Fish & Tree. I cannot wait to see all the kids again, making memories, having fun laughing, and swimming! Let’s have an amazing summer and bring that All City trophy back home to Marine Hills!”
Tim Yen - Assistant Coach

Drum roll please! Coach Tim is back and is entering into his 3rd season with the Fish & Tree Team! Tim attended the University of Hawaii his freshman year and transferred to Highline College when he moved to Washington. He studied Personal/Group Fitness Training, he was inspired to go for his degree in the field that was such a big part of his life.


Tim’s swimming background is pretty fantastic! He has been swimming competitively for 18 years. Some of his biggest accomplishments come from when he represented the Philippines on the Junior National and National Team Levels. He swam for the University of Hawaii his freshman year, and swam on several club teams as well as his high school team in San Diego where he still holds team records! Tim has competed in numerous international championship meets including Pan Pac’s! Along side swimming, Tim has been the Head Coach at Federal Way High School the last 2 years for both the girls and boys teams, he also coaches for KING Aquatic Club, University of Puget Sound, and of course, Marine Hills his first hired coaching job!


Something you may not know about Coach Tim is that he really wants a Corgi!

Liam Casey-Minnick - Assistant Coach
This year we are pleased to welcome back fish and tree’s very own Liam Casey-Minnick; with a new title as Coach Liam! Liam is currently attending school in Rhode Island at Providence College where he is pursuing his degree in Biology. Liam is attending school on a 3-Year ROTC scholarship.
Liam’s swim background consists of swimming for Marine Hills (13 Years), KING Aquatic Club (12 Years), Stadium High School (4 Years), and Providence College (2 Years). We think his achievements will speak for themselves and why Liam will be a great addition to the coaching staff. His Marine Hills achievements include being Most Improved - 2009, MVP - 2011, 2013-15, 2017, and 2019, Ted Sharp Recipient 2017 & 2019, Fish & Tree Award Recipient - 2018, Team Captain 2018-19, and holds a few records in the 200 Medley Relay & 200 Freestyle Relay. He was also a 3-Time WIAA State qualifier for his high school. For USA Swimming he qualified for multiple Regional, Zones, Sectionals & Futures meets! 
Something you may not know about Coach Liam is he has his advanced diving certification.
Liam would like to say: “I am looking forward to being on deck and being able to challenge myself with an entirely new perspective in swimming.”
Madalyn Crane - Assistant Coach 
We are excited to welcome Madalyn Crane to the Fish & Tree team! Coach Mads (as she likes to be called) recently graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (2020) and has since been attending Highline Community College. She is pursuing her AA degree, where after she plans on transferring to a 4 year university where she aspires to study Music Education. 
Madalyn’s swim background consists of swimming for her high school, Thomas Jefferson High School (4 Years). In Spring of 2021, she became a coach for the school starting off as a ratio coach and has since moved into the assistant coach position for the boys team. Her favorite stroke is breaststroke and her favorite event is the 100 Breast!
Something you may not know about Coach Mads is that her socks never match. 
Madalyn would like to say: “I’ve heard so many great things about MH and I can’t wait to be part of the team! I’m also looking forward to becoming a more knowledgeable and experienced coach!”
