The Barracuda coaching staff is dedicated to the growth and success of the swimmers.  The coaches encourage goal setting and enjoy working with the swimmers to reach their goals.  Our coaches are especially insightful and are the best resource for questions or issues regarding meets, workouts and goal setting.

WENDY WEBSTER > [email protected]

Coach Wendy started swimming on a team at age 4 and joined the Folsom Sea Otters at age 6. She swam for the Otters and Folsom High School until she went to college. Her favorite events were freestyle and butterfly, but she preferred to keep them short and sweet – the 50 and 100 were her top events. She started teaching swimming when she was 15 and took courses on coaching swimming at Brigham Young University and through ASCA. She continued her love for teaching when she joined the coaching staff of the Folsom Sea Otters in 2001. After living in France for a year, she returned to the Otters in 2003 as their head coach and started with Folsom High School, remaining there until 2007. She joined the Barracudas in 2013 after building a family of four with her husband. Wendy loves swimming and the community that swim teams build. When she's not at the pool, you can find her hanging out with her family riding bikes around town, playing sports or trying to find some downtime reading or cooking (her two passions in this life!).

Coach Mary began competitive swimming for Carson Aquatic Club at age 10 in Carson City, NV. She enjoyed a multitude of other sports to include soccer, golf and gymnastics but swimming ultimately won her heart!  Over the course of her younger years, she became Nevada State Champion in many events, qualified for several Junior National cuts and was awarded Academic All-American status in High School. She went on to compete in college, swimming an unforgettable four years with University of San Diego.  After college, she took a 20-year break. Now she is back and loving every minute of it. She currently swims in a Masters program four times a week. When her busy schedule allows, she still competes in the pool and open water events.  Mary has been married to her husband, Bernie for twenty years. They have three amazing kids, Grace (18), Marco (15), and Carlo (10). She also works part-time coaching a local Masters team and is a coach for new teachers through Placer County Office of Education's Teacher Induction program.

Ryann is excited to begin her ninth season leading/coaching the Jr Cuda team! She loves being a part of the Barracuda team with its wonderful families, great coaches and fun atmosphere. Coaching the Jr team brings joy every year as the young Cudas turn into excellent new freestylers. Helping kids gain confidence in the pool is a rewarding experience. And preparing swimmers to become a part of the Barracuda team is her main goal. Ryann swam competitively all through her childhood and started teaching swim lessons in college. In fact, she worked at Broadstone as a swim teacher on her summers off. Her background rests solidly in education as she was an elementary school teacher in Elk Grove for several years before she became a mom of two. Here’s to another stellar Cuda swim season!
