Welcome to the FSO JR Otters Program 

FSO JR OTTERS - is an alternative program for kids ages (4-6) who are not ready for the regular swim team.  Kids receive basic instruction in freestyle and backstroke.  Kids do not swim in regular team meets but have an opportunity to participate in an exhibition swim during our last home meet of the season. 

This program is recommended when kids struggle to pass our Water Safety Check (WSC).  Proficient swimmers who pass our WSC under the required time are ready for swim team and will not benefit from this program.  Swimmers who completed one year of JR Otters are not eligible to participate in the JRs progam more than once and are asked to join our regular team. 

If you are unsure about swimmer rediness for the team, ask our Head Coach for an assessment at the Water Safety Check.  FSO Board members can answer any additional questions you may have before deciding between JR Otters and the team.
