Frog Nation Guidelines & Expectations

The team has a zero tolerance policy for any behavior that puts people, property or the team at risk. Behavior that, in the opinion of the coaches and of the Framingham Recreation Department, is inappropriate will be grounds for suspension or dismissal from the team.  If any conflict arises, please let a member of the coaching staff know immediately.

Keefe Tech Rules – we are guest at Keefe Tech and must abide by their rules

  • Absolutely no running on the deck or in the lobby
  • No unattended children in the lobby or playing outside
  • Swimmers must remain in the pool area – the locker rooms, pool deck, the pool and the pool stands.  Swimmers should not hang out in the lobby or wander around the school.
  • Sliding down the banister or playing on the stairs and ramps is not allowed.
  • Swimmers must change in the pool locker room and not the lobby bathrooms
  • Water is allowed in the stands, no other food or drinks are allowed

Coaches supervise swimmers during practice.  Parents supervise swimmers when they are not in practice.  If a family has children in more than one practice, it is not acceptable to leave swimmers who have completed practice unsupervised and waiting for their sibling to finish.  The coaches must focus on the safety of those in the water.

Please be in the stands ready to swim at least 5 minutes before practice start time.

Swimmers are encouraged to attend every practice.  We are not allowed on the deck until it is our turn to swim.

Winter Team Practices

Practices are held in the evenings at Keefe Tech from Mid-November through early March.

Practice are held on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the winter season.

1st practice is from 6:30pm-7:30pm for swimmers 10 and younger.

2nd practice is from 7:30pm- 8:30pm for swimmers 11 and older.

Bring a suit, goggles, fins, cap and water bottle to every practice. It is helpful to have an extra practice suit and goggles as well.  Practice suits, goggles, caps and fins will be available from Varsity Swim Shop who will visit us early in the season. Check the calendar for when they will be here.

Do not wear the team suit to practice.  These are for our swim meets

Swimmers are expected to attend every meet and participate in Regionals.  In order to qualify for regionals, swimmers must compete in at least 5 dual meets throughout the season. The meet calendar will be provided at the beginning of the season and it will be posted on this team site.

Swimmers are expected to tell us which meets they can and cannot attend.  You will do this by using our online meet declaration system.  Please note there are fees for signing up late or now showing up for meets.

Team apparel must be worn to all meets (team t-shirt, team suit and team cap).  Please do not wear your team suit for practice.  The team t-shirt and cap will be provided to each swimmer in the early weeks of the season.

Varsity Swim Shop will come to Keefe Tech for a team suit fitting in the summer only. Team suits are for competition only.  Check the team calendar for team fitting date and time.

Family Volunteer Commitment

Framingham Swim team is coordinated by a volunteer parent steering committee and each family is responsible for completing a family volunteer commitment each season.  Every family is responsible, each season to volunteer at meets a minimum of two times.  If you have more than one child on the team, you must sign-up two times plus one for each additional child.  The Framingham Recreation Department requires every family to volunteer and support the recreational leagues.  Failure to fulfill the volunteer commitment is grounds for dismissal from the team.  Volunteers are needed at every meet for timing, scorekeeping, place-judging, officiating, bullpen, and snack bar.  Training is provided at the beginning of the season. We also need volunteers to coordinate team parties, fundraising, and other activities. Volunteer “sign-ups” are sent via email or accessed through the team website.
