The Lakota Stingrays Swim Team represents the Lakota Family YMCA, located at 6703 Yankee Road, in Liberty Township. The mission of the Lakota Family YMCA Stingrays swimming program is to provide young people with the opportunity to excel in the sport of competitive swimming in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Christian principles are used to teach team members the value of hard work, commitment, discipline, and team work. Swimmers are taught a variety of new skills and given the chance to refine those skills as they progress through the program. Competition at local swim meets is encouraged however we strive to maintain a low-pressure and fun atmosphere. Our coaching staff has a passion for swimming and we are dedicated to helping our swimmers develop that same love for the sport. Fund Raising for Lakota Stingrays Winter Swim Team

The Lakota Stingrays Winter Swim Team is supported financially by monthly team fees, family fundraising, and team fundraising.  This is an overview of our fundraising program.  Details will be provided under the team events tab on the website as they become available during the season.

Family Fund Raising

  • Each family has a mandatory $100 fundraising fee.
  •  If you like, you may pay $100 to the team and not participate in the swimmer fund raisers.    If you choose to pay the fundraising fee directly, you will receive a tax deductible contribution receipt from the YMCA.
  • If you participate in the swimmer fund raisers and raise more than $100, the additional funds raised will be applied to meet event fees.  The additional funds may not be applied to the monthly team fees and cannot be paid directly to the swimmer family.
