Unified Swim Team Information

 

Sun Prairie Piranhas Unified Swim Team is a new swim program through the City of Sun Prairie designed for students with disabilities to experience the benefits of a youth sports program.

Who is eligible?

  • Anyone 18 years or younger

  • Anyone with a disability that makes them not safe or successful in general athletic programs.

  • If you are unsure if your athlete qualifies or want to talk about if this program will be a good fit for your athlete, please reach out to the Sun Prairie Piranhas Head Coach, Konrad Plomedahl ([email protected]).

What does participation look like?

  • 5 swimmers will have the opportunity to participate on the unified team. Selection will be made on a first come, first serve basis, and they must be deemed a good fit by the coaching staff.

  • If you are able, attend the new swimmer orientation on April 11th (Last Name A-L) 5:30-6:30 pm or April 12th (Last Name M-Z) 5:30-6:30 pm.

  • All swimmers will have the opportunity to compete in select events at home dual meets.

  • Coaches will be in water at all times, providing the necessary support to ensure safety and learning. 

  • Swimmers in the adapted swim group will practice Tuesdays/Thursdays from May 29 - June 9 (6:40-7:10 pm) and June 12 - July 21 (10:45-11:15 am).

Registration and Fees:

  • Registration starts at 7:00 PM on April 17th

  • Registration Fees: 

    • Resident: $140 ($75 Registration Fee, $65 Booster Fee)

    • Non-Resident: $150 ($85 Registration Fee, $65 Booster Fee)

Practices will be held at the discretion of the head coach.
