Coaches and Directors
Coach Chris graduated from Panther Creek High School with the awesome Class of 2020!! He swam year-round for New Wave Swim Team for 10 years, and he also swam for the Cary Park Sea Dragons for 4 years from ages 9-13. His favorite strokes to swim are butterfly and freestyle, but he loves teaching all strokes. Chris was so excited to coach for the Cary Park Sea Dragons for the last 3 years because that was one of his goals ever since he started swimming with the team. Coach Chris is finishing his freshman year at Rollins College in Florida, and he is excited to come back as the new Head Coach of CPSD! He aims to continue the success Cary Park has had along with sharing the love he has for swimming! Go Sea Dragons!
Coach Olivia has been swimming for Cary Park since she was 7 years old and cannot wait to continue with this team for her second year as an assistant coach! She graduated in 2020 from Panther Creek High School as a Summa Cum Laude, completed her Girl Scout Gold Award, and was in the National Honors Society. Olivia attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville before transferring to NCState this year. She is majoring in Biology on the pre-medical track. Olivia swam with TAC Titans in high school and previously swam with RSA. Her favorite strokes are back and free. She is thrilled to have the ability to continue the legacy of the Cary Park Sea Dragons as an Assistant Coach this summer and is looking forward to an amazing season! Go Sea Dragons!
Coach Meaghan is a rising senior at Green Level High School and is very excited for her second season as a coach. She has been swimming for the team for 10 years. She is the captain for the Green Level Color Guard and a member of the National Charity League. She is excited to return as a coach this season, lets make this the best one yet!
Coach Camden returns for his third year as an Assistant Coach with the Sea Dragons! He was the 2018 Sea Dragon of the Year and has been a Sea Dragon for 7 years. Coach Camden is a rising senior at Green Level High School, as well as an Eagle Scout with Boys Scouts of America. Not only that, he is the founder of a delivery shoe shine business.
Coach Katie T. is a rising Senior at Green Level High School and was the captian of the Green Level Dance Team of the 2019-2020 school year. She has been a swimmer on the Cary Park Swim Team for 7 years and was an Assistant Coach the last 2 years. She has loved swimming with and coaching the Sea Dragons. She has been a dance teacher assistant at Starpath Dance Academy for 6 years, and a member of the National Charity League since 2015. Looking forward to the 2021 season!!
Coach Katelyn is a rising junior at Panther Creek High School and has been swimming with the Cary Park Sea Dragons since she was 8 years old. She’s been a junior coach for the past three years and is so excited to be an assistant coach for the first time this season! Katelyn plays soccer for Wake FC and for her school’s women's team, and tutors elementary school kids during the school year. She is looking forward to another amazing season!
Coach Matthew is a rising junior at Green Level High whose been swimming with The Sea Dragons since he was 5. Additionally, he’s been swimming year round with TAC for 5 years and is eager to bring his expertise to the team. This is his first year as an assistant coach and he can’t wait to get started!
Coach Pranav is a rising junior at Panther Creek High School. He has been swimming with the Sea Dragons since he was seven, he’s on the Panther Creek High School swim team, and he has been swimming with NCAC for four years. He has done junior coaching in the past and cannot wait to take on this new position as assistant coach!
Coach Ronna brings well over
25 years of swim team development and coaching experience to
the Cary Park Sea Dragons. Over that time frame, Ronna has coached
and instructed swimmers across all age groups on USA Swimming
sanctioned clubs, competitive summer league teams, and high schools
in Indiana and North Carolina.
She is well versed in all aspects of
team development and brings a special focus on the skills critical
to a swimmer's advancement. In younger swimmers, she works on
technique, building confidence in their abilities, and instills
enthusiasm for the sport. All of Coach Ronna's swimmers develop a
love of the water and a camaraderie with their teammates - making
swimming a fun and rewarding aspect of their lives!
This is Cynthia's third season as the CPSD BOD Presisent, and she is super excited for the season to get underway! Cynthia brings a wealth of experience as a swimmer and swim instructor to the team, and she is eager to share her love of swimming with age group swimmers. A competitive swimmer since the age of 8, Cynthia swam with Suburban Seahalks Club in PA, as well as in high school and at the collegiate level for Mount Holyoke College (Div. III). Her favorite stroke is breaststroke, and she continues to swim competively as a Masters Swimmer. After college, Cynthia was a volunteer Assistant Coach at Mount Holyoke College (Div. III) for one season, and she was a swim instructor with Atlantis Swim School in 2005. Cynthia holds current Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First-Aid Certifications and is certified as a Summer League Swim Coach by the American Swim Coaches Association. Cynthia was previously a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise and is a former member of the American Nutrition Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Heart Association. Cynthia graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2007 with a PhD in Nutrition. She currently works at Duke University as the Associate Director of Scientific Program Management for the Duke Human Vaccine Institute.
