Welcome to the 2022 Mini Sea Dragons!

Potential Mini SeaDragons need to register for the Cary Park Pool and Cary Park Sea Dragons. Please follow instructions on the Team Registration Tab.

Mini Sea Dragons

The Mini Sea Dragons is our pre-competitive group for swimmers ages 8 and under who are not quite ready to participate on our competitive team.

The Mini Sea Dragons typically have at least one swim meet during the season on a Saturday morning or Thursday afternoon, but do not participate in the Tuesday night dual meets (unless invited).

Swimmers cannot sign up specifically for the Mini Sea Dragons.  The way this works is the swimmer is signed up as a swimmer on the team through our normal registration process. Then, all new swimmers ages 8 & Under are “evaluated” during the first two weeks of the season before joining the normal practice groups.

  • The criteria for the competitive team is the ability to swim the length of the pool multiple times as evaluated by the coaches.
  • The criteria for Mini Sea Dragons (pre-competitive team) is the ability to swim at least 10 yards independently and the ability to get their own breath while swimming.

                          *No Saturday morning practices

Swim Meets

The Mini Sea Dragons do not participate in the normal Tuesday night meets.  The Mini Sea Dragon meet will be announced early in the season.  This meet will go roughly 30 minutes.  We will ask the Mini Sea Dragon parents to volunteer to help us run the meet – there are no huge jobs, so don’t worry.

Sea Dragon Equipment

We do have a team swim suit (see Spirit Wear Tab), but it is not required for the Mini Sea Dragons.  Many do purchase the suit, and we encourage that, but if you haven’t done so – you do not have to have the exact team swim suit.

All the swimmers should have goggles, and we encourage caps for longer hair.

Social Activities

The Sea Dragons have many social activities throughout the season, and Mini Sea Dragons are always welcome to swim team socials, including:

  • Themes at our swim meets
  • Dragon dessert on Thursdays

And much more!!! Keep checking our “Social Activities” tab on the web-site for more activities and details.
