Welcome to the 2022 Aquatics Team season.  Please see the following info for the upcoming season.

Head Swim Coach Allison Delany and Assistant Coache Brianna Hatzold are returning for another great season of summer swim for 2022. In addition Tabitha DiDonato is joining the coaching staff as an Assistant Coach as well. The coaches are very excited to get back to full practices and a full competitive season.

The team is currently looking to hire a new Dive Coach as Coach Longo is not able to return this season.  More information will be available regarding the dive team as our coaching search progresses.

Tri-County Season

There are several items on the news front from Tri-County.  First, the league has been successful in adding a new club to the league, Gloucester City.  They will join F division.  This allows the E & F division to each have 5 teams and thus no “tri” meets this season. Second, the season will run just as it had pre-Covid…that is meets will resume being scored and having official win-loss results.

Here are the links to the published A & B meet schedules.
A-Meet:  https://tricoswim.org/a-meet-schedule/

B-Meet: https://tricoswim.org/b-meet-schedule/

Some key dates:

  • Time Trials will be 6/18

  • Graduating Swimmers Meet will be 7/16

  • The Chestnut Run meet on July 2 will not be moved despite July 4 being on Monday.  CR is located too far away to move this to a weeknight meet.

  • Old Orchard Mini Meet – Sunday, July 10th for 9&Under swimmers

  • Joe Crick Midi Meet @ BFSC – Sunday, July 17 for 10-15 year old swimmers

  • Cherry Bowl @ Old Orchard – Saturday, July 30

  • Tri-County Championships @ Woodcrest – Sat/Sun August 6 & 7th

Hope this helps in planning for the upcoming season.

Parent Meeting

Running a swim and dive season requires considerable support from all families of participating athletes.  We will communicate a parent meeting for all parents.

Swimming and Diving Age Groups

We do get questions from parents of new swimmers about whether to sign up for lessons or swim team. Safety is our priority so if you are unsure please discuss with Coach Allison your child’s ability, and she will help guide you to the best path forward.  Our guideline is your child should be able to make it down the length of the pool as well as tread water.  Usually, the youngest age is 5 years old for the swim team. Barclay Farm has the “Cudas in Training” program for new swim team members who want to be part of the team but are not quite ready for competition. Most new swimmers start in this program (held at the same time as the 8&Under practice) and quickly move into the 8&Under level practice lanes.

For those swimmers needing more personalized swim instruction, swim lessons are for sale and will be held by Tabitha DiDonato after the 8&Under practice is over.

For meets the athletes will need a competitive suit, preferably the team uniform from our store on Nexxt Level Aquatics Pro Shop. Athletes should have an additional practice suit as they are swimming every day.  Swimmers need well-fitting goggles (2 pairs minimum). Swim caps are preferred. The team has fins, but if you prefer your own please feel free to bring them. The team has kickboards.  Please order your suits and caps ASAP!  The swimsuit fitting will be at NL Aquatics (AKA SJAC) on May 20th from 4pm to 7pm.

NL Aquatics address

333 Preston Ave, Voorhees, NJ 08043

Please have your child come with a dry towel and warm clothes as the water is cooler early in the season.  Also, athletes should bring socks/sneakers as they may be performing dryland exercises.

Lastly, water…your child sweats while swimming and will need to stay hydrated.
