For the health and safety of all members, Sandston Pool has outlined rules for proper pool use that all members and guests must adhere to.

Our members are responsible for knowing and following these rules and informing guests of our policies.

 

Pool Rules

  1. Members must sign in any guests prior to swimming at the front gate.

  2. Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

  3. The Sandston Board reserves the right to terminate membership for misuse of membership.

  4. Children under 13 must be accompanied by a person over 18 years of age or older.

  5. Non-potty trained children must wear swim diapers. 

  6. Proper attire is required for swimming.

  7. Please dress modestly as we are a family-friendly environment.

  8. No diving in areas less than 5 feet.

  9. No flips or back dives are allowed off the side of the pool.

  10. No glass containers of any kind permitted.

  11. No alcohol or drugs may be brought onto premises.

  12. No smoking or vaping allowed in our pool (there is a designated smoking area outside the gated area across the pavement).

  13. A 10 minute break will be taken every hour at 10 minutes to the hour for adult swim. Adult swim is for persons 18 years or older. It is a 15 minute break on weekends.

  14. Lifeguard’s instructions must be obeyed at all times by members and guests for maximum safety.

  15. Persons entering the pool after closing time will be trespassing and subject to arrest.

  16. Management has the right and responsibility to close the pool when deemed necessary for safety measures.

Baby Pool Rules

  1. No lifeguard is on duty at any time in the baby pool area.

  2. Non-potty trained children must wear swim diapers.

  3. Only children that don’t swim in the big pool are allowed in the baby pool area.

  4. All children in the baby pool area must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

  5. No diving is allowed in the baby pool area.

  6. No water guns of any kind are allowed in the baby pool area.

Diving Board/Well Rules

  1. Only one diver on the board at a time.

  2. Divers must jump straight out from the board.

  3. No running or horse playing on diving boards.

  4. No goggles, masks, glasses, or hats allowed when going off the boards.

  5. No flotation devices permitted in the Well, including kickboards.

  6. Lifeguards and management reserve the right to end any games in the Well at any time.

INCLEMENT Weather Policy

Sandston Pool is implementing an Inclement Weather Policy for the safety of all members at the discretion of the manager on duty, the pool may be closed due to the following weather conditions:  

  1. If lightning or thunder is present or pending, the pool deck must be cleared.

  2. If a Severe Storm Warning has been issued.

  3. If rain, hail, wind or any other weather condition presents a safety concern. 

  4. If the pool experiences a power outage. 

  5. If there is low attendance due to weather conditions.

  6. If the forecast calls for all day rain and temperatures below 70 degrees.

Sandston Pool will announce weather-related pool closures in the following ways: Email and text alert. Your phone number on your account has to have the carrier listed to get text messages.  

Failure to abide by the Sandston Pool Rules will result in consequences that could lead to dismissal from the pool.
