SWIM MEET SERVICE HOUR POSITIONS

Each family is required to work a minimum of six shifts in one of the available jobs.

  • At least two of them must be at the poolside.
  • Parents who have a child/ren 10 or younger must fulfill at least three of their six shifts as a "kid-runner" or "event line-up assistant" unless there are no more remaining shifts open in their child/ren's age group.
    • Kid-running and event line-up are considered poolside jobs.
  • Families with only a cub on the team and no other swimmers are not required to work 6 shifts, because the meet participation is very small if any.

Each family will be required to work an additional job at each season-end meet (Invitationals and/or Championships) in which their child/ren will swim.

  • Service Hour sign-ups for Invitationals and Champs will open up towards the end of the season.
  • An email announcement for the date/time to sign-up for these two events will be sent out to the team.
  • This is in addition to the 6 shifts required for Time Trials/Dual Meets.

To Sign-up for Team Service Hour Shifts:

  • Once the sign-ups have opened up, go to the Aqua Bears website, www.aquabears.net, and sign into your account
    • Team Unify allows only one parent/guardian account to be used for signing up for team service hour shifts even if both parents have an account.   Be sure to use the primary parent/guardian email to log into your account.
  • Make sure you are on the Home page and click on the "Team Meets" tab found in the Events section in the middle of the page.
  • Click on "Job Sign-ups" to see the listing of jobs for each meet.
  • Sign up for any available job.
  • Please remember to wait until the Job Sign-ups are open and functioning.

Service Hours are NOT optional.

  • If you do not fulfill your Team Service Hour shifts completely your account will be charge $350 at the end of the season. We will charge the card you used at registration.
  • In addition, families who do not complete their service hours for 2 years, will be disqualified from registering with the team the following year.

In the event you are unable to work the job you committed to, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.

For questions concerning volunteer positions and sign ups, please contact our Service Hour Coordinator, Laura Miller, at l2miller@pacbell.net.
