Entries for this Wednesday’s meet are already done but if you have requests for what your swimmer would like to swim for our Saturday meet (or any future meets) please add it in the notes section of that meet or email me at  [email protected]

Signing Out of Meets:

In order to run an efficient event and to make sure we can field relay teams, it is important for the coaches and computer desk to know which swimmers will be participating in each meet.  All of our dual meets are on our team calendar on our website.  Please take a minute now to go through and sign out or “decline” any dual meet that you will not be able to attend for the entire season.

If you do not sign out by Sunday night for a Wednesday meet or Wednesday night for a Saturday meet - we will assume (and expect) that you will be participating in the meet.  If there is a last-minute emergency and you are unable to attend, please email both [email protected] and [email protected]

Please also make sure your swimmer is marked on the back or arm with events. Thank you!

Stroke and Turn officials needed

We are in need of  WCSC Officials. Great way to fulfill your volunteer hours requirement.  Best view of swim meets.  No prior swim officiating experience required; training is provided.  However, please have some years of competitive swimming experience.  If interested, please contact Andrew McCall ([email protected], 925-285-7890).

Open Jobs and Subs

Thanks to those of you who volunteered last minute for the REST meet timer jobs!  We were able to help REST cover their jobs and extend credit to our families.

I know that there are few jobs available currently (though there are still some open!).  We may be adding some new jobs (particularly after June 15) and if all jobs are covered, we may be able to ask some families to release some jobs so others can pick up some jobs and do their part.  Thanks for your flexibility!

SUBS: If you know anyone who wants to be on our jobs SUBS list, please send me their name, age and mobile phone number.  Sub jobs pay $50/job and are a great way to make some extra $$.

As always, please contact me at [email protected] if you have any questions!

What is All City? This is WCSC’s biggest fundraiser for the year. We welcome nearly 1900 swimmers and their families from 10 other teams; it’s a really big swim meet!  Walnut Creek Swim Club is the host of the meet (since 1987) which means we all chip in and do our part to continue to make this a meet in which all of the teams want to return to.  As a team, we pride ourselves on running a fun and well-run swim meet.  We are working hard on getting this year’s All-City Swim meet planned. It may operate a little differently this year but you can be sure it will still be a fun event for all in attendance. Look for more information soon.

If you’d like to have a Shout-Out in this year's program go to this google form to start the process and get more information.

If you still need to pick up your Jolyn or FINIS suit, contact Erica Gilmore at [email protected]

WCSC Swim Caps are still being made and I will pass them out as soon as they are in my hands!

Team gear is still being processed and will be here in the next couple of weeks.

Team Suits:

  • If you have a team suit that doesn't fit and you would like to try and sell it to a family that might need it please contact me and I will try and find a home for your suit. Erica Gilmore at [email protected]
  • If you are in need of a team suit let me know and I will see if we have your child's size available. Erica Gilmore at [email protected]

Upcycle your old WCSC gear! If you have any shirts that you could pass on to a younger swimmer please let me know and we can have an exchange so we can keep these shirts in rotation and have everyone outfitted in our team gear at our meets.

Big Buddy Little Buddy Picnic:

Sign up as soon as possible using this link: Big Buddy Little Buddy Picnic

One of the best traditions of WCSC is the Big Buddy Little Buddy Picnic hosted by the Nightriders!

When? Tuesday, June 15 from 6-8:00pm at Larkey Park.

6-8pm Dinner Games

8pm 15-18 Nightrider Initiation

8:30pm Pickup

Please sign up as soon as possible to give us a few days to match everyone up, as well as so your swimmer has time to meet their buddy before the picnic!

At the Buddy Picnic, younger swimmers (most likely 10 & under) will be paired with an older swimmer (most likely 11 & up) for dinner and games. Older swimmers will bring dinner of their buddy's choosing, and the younger swimmers will bring dessert and a drink to share. Then it is games galore and of course the initiation of new 15-18s by becoming a human sundae. Pairings will be sent out by Friday, June 11th so that buddies have time to meet before the picnic. The hope is that the buddies continue their friendship throughout the season by cheering each other on at races, making each other signs, hanging out at meets, and checking in with each other at practices, just to name a few ideas.

*Please note that all food items need to be store-bought or ordered. Masks and social distancing will be in place.

Talk to or email a Nightrider at [email protected] if you have questions.

Check Meet Results

After a meet is complete it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for the results to be finalized and published.  Once the results are published, you can access them in a few different ways:

First, we post the full meet results as a PDF within the Event on the team calendar:

You can also see meet results by clicking on “View Meet Results” on the event.

Individual swimmer results can be accessed through the “My Account” tab on Team Unify.
