Hello Stingrays!
It was a great meet yesterday and really exciting to see so many Straehle qualifiers already! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered in the humid, sometimes rainy/sometimes sweltering weather. Can’t wait to watch our swimmers the rest of the season.
Nottingham Relay Carnival
This Tuesday is the relay carnival at Nottingham Swim Club, 1104 Kingsbridge Terrace, Mt Airy, MD 21771. For those who have registered and are attending, warm-ups are at 5pm and the meet starts at 6pm. Looking forward to fun relays and carnival games! We will send out the line up to the participants as soon as we have it – sometime in the next 24 hours.
Crofton Meet
Our second dual meet is next Saturday, July 1st at Crofton Swim and Tennis Club, 1719 Reynolds St, Crofton, MD 21114. Sign up and declare by Tuesday at 8pm. As usual, the coaches will select the events. Volunteer sign-up will be in the same place and an email will be sent out when those are open. Warm-up time is still TBD, but plan on being there around by 8:15am and the meet will start at 9am.
Sprit Wear
If you haven’t picked up your team shirt, spirit wear or custom caps yet, please see a board member. For those of you who missed ordering earlier, or just want more swag, never fear! We will be opening up the spirit wear store again this week, with delivery by the end of the season.
Ribbons and Tokens
Swimmers will receive their ribbons and Stingray tokens at practice on Monday. Family mailboxes will show up this week, so if your swimmer isn’t at practice tomorrow, please check your mailbox folder. Stingray tokens can be used at our home meets concession stand and the pool snack bar. They are worth $.25, and we will have a token store at the banquet where swimmers can buy little trinkets with their leftover tokens as well.
Splash and Dash (Kid’s biathlon)
Sign up now for Splash and Dash on July 7th, 10am (the event will be held during practice), with proceeds benefiting our fundraising for a new starting block. The cost is $12 for city residents and pool members and $19 for non-residents or non-pool members. There are three different options, and all are welcome.
Please invite all your friends and family to participate as this event is open to the public and is a fundraiser for our team.
Carroll County Invitational
South Carroll Swim Club will once again be holding the Carroll County Invitational (CCI) on Wednesday, July 19th, 1900 W. Liberty Rd, Westminster, MD 21157. Warm-ups begin at 3pm and the meet starts at 4:30pm.
Sign-ups will go live this week and the entry deadline is Monday, July 10th by 7:15pm. Declare your swimmer for the meet the same way as you do for dual meets, but you can select your own events for each swimmer this time (up to 4). Events are $5 each and cash/check can be handed to a board member or placed in the CCI folder in the family mailboxes. Please clearly label your swimmer’s name/s. All families who register and have not paid by the entry deadline will have their accounts charged for the entry fee + $1 transaction fee.
Reminders
Keep cheering on swim buddies! The team spirit was strong at Rollingwood – let’s keep it up!
