Hi Stingray families!
Congratulations again to all the Stingrays on a great meet at Crofton yesterday! And a big thank you to our volunteers at our dual meet as well as the relay carnival last week. It was really inspiring to see the older kids organizing their relay teams and taking charge.
We will really need all hands-on deck for the next 3 meets – which are all at HOME! All families need 4 regular volunteer points and will also need to perform an additional volunteer job if your swimmer participates in any of the optional meets (CCI, Jr Champs, Divisionals). This volunteer job must be at one of the optional meets (Note: all families who participate in Straehle volunteer at that meet). Click here to review the volunteer policy.

PRACTICE ADJUSTMENTS
- Tuesday, July 4th: no practice or lessons.
- Friday, July 7th: Splash and Dash – no morning practice but please come participate in the Splash and Dash starting at 10am (all Fun “Friday” activities will happen on Thursday). See more below about the Splash and Dash and how to register. There will still be morning and evening lessons that day to accommodate for the 4th of July.
- Wednesday, July 19th: CCI – there will be no morning or evening practice. AM Lessons will continue as scheduled but PM lessons will be postponed to Friday, July 21st.
- Monday, July 24th: Junior Champs – no practice. We will be holding a “Lesson Instructor and assistant appreciation party” from 9:30-11:45am. This is open to swimmers who participated as lesson instructors or assistants as well as Junior coaches.
- Wednesday, July 26th: Straehle – no AM practice, PM practice schedule as usual for swimmers who normally swim in evening practice.
SPLASH AND DASH
This is a fundraiser for block 8 and our lane line reel. We really need everyone to help promote and attend the kid’s biathlon on Friday, July 7th. Since there’s no practice that day, this is a great alternative and the sooner you register the more time we have to organize the heats. There are three different options to accommodate everyone’s fitness level. You can register here – the cost is $12 for city residents/pool members and $19 for non-residents/non-pool members.
STROKE CLINIC
Coach Alex and Coach Mike are holding another stroke clinic this Friday, July 7th at 7pm and 7:30. The focus will be on turns and finishes and the cost is $20 per session (which will benefit our lane line fundraiser). Such a great opportunity to get some focused attention from our amazing coaches! PADONIA HOME MEET
Our first home dual meet in 4 years! Sign up and declare by Tuesday at 8pm. The coaches will select the events and send out more information a day or two ahead of the meet. Warm-ups will be at 8am, please plan to be there by 7:45 to check in with a coach. We reserved the parking lot for the visiting team, so please park on the street.
Volunteer sign-ups are open, and we will be sending around a concession stand donation sign-up soon. Please be sure to sign-up for both. We need all of you!
We will begin setting up for the meet Friday evening at 6:45pm until we finish and again at 7:15am on Saturday morning. We would appreciate any help we can get from our team parents and older swimmers. Service hours are available for all kids (does not need to be a stingray swimmer) who are rising sixth graders and above who help.
CARROLL COUNTY INVITATIONAL
Reminder that the deadline to sign up for CCI is Monday, July 10th by 7:15pm. Declare your swimmer for the meet the same way as you do for dual meets, but this time you select your swimmers’ events (up to 4). Events are $5 each and cash/check can be handed to a board member or placed in the CCI folder in the family mailboxes. Please clearly label your swimmer’s name/s. All families who register and have not paid by the entry deadline will have their accounts charged for the entry fee + $1 transaction fee.

SPIRIT WEAR
The second-round spirit wear deadline is this Wednesday, July 5th, at 11:59pm. You can even personalize them! You can access the link to order here. Items will be delivered by the end of the season.
