Hi Stingray Families!
Congratulations on the great win Saturday against Waugh Chapel! We’ve got some updates on our last home meet, practice schedules, extra meets, and the banquet below, so make sure to read it all.
ROLAND RUN HOME MEET (Saturday, July 22nd)
- Sign up and declare by Tuesday at 8pm.
- Volunteer sign ups and concession donations are both open. Click here to access the Concessions sign-up genius. We will need all families to donate one to two items. We will have breakfast and lunch items (including donuts, breakfast burritos, muffins, bagels, pulled pork sandwiches, pizza, nachos, and cup of noodles) and snacks.
- Coaches will select the events and send out more information Thursday or Friday.
- Please arrive by 7:15am for our team photo! We will also need parent participation to get the swimmers lined up orderly.
- Warm-ups will begin at 8am.
- Thanks to all of you for parking on the street for the visiting team and sharing tents with each other! We will need everyone to follow the same practice this week as well.
- We will begin setting up the meet Friday evening at 6:45pm until we finish and again at 7:15am Saturday morning. Service hours are available, and all help is appreciated from swimmers and parents alike!
OTHER UPCOMING MEETS & EVENTS
Practice Adjustments
Wednesday, 7/19 (CCI day): no practice. AM lessons will be held, but PM lessons are postponed to Friday.
Monday, 7/24 (JR champs day): no practice. AM and PM lessons will be held. Contact Wendy if you will need a sub. Lesson instructor/assistant party will be held from 9:30-11:45.
Wednesday, 7/26 (Straehle): no AM practice. PM practice will be held as normal, for those swimmers who normally swim evening practice. AM & PM lessons will be held. Contact Wendy if you will need a sub.
Friday, 7/28 (Last Fun Friday): open to all swimmers!
CCI (Wednesday, South Carroll Country Club)
Everyone should have signed up who’s planning on attending and know your events. Thanks to those parents who have volunteered! UPDATE: our team warm-ups begin at 3:30pm and the meet starts at 4:30pm. See attached pool map for seating areas.
Junior Championships (July 24th, Westminster Riding Club)
Sign-ups are open for Junior Championships! Reminder, this meet is for all swimmers who have not qualified for individual events at Straehle. If your swimmer has qualified for a relay but not an individual event, they are still eligible to participate in this event.
Registration and payment are due by the end of CCI on Wednesday evening. Each event is $5; swimmers 8 & under are limited to 3 events and swimmers 9 & over are limited to eligible for up to 4 events. Warm-ups are at 3pm and the meet starts at 4pm.
Note: Families who attend any optional meets are expected to complete one more volunteer point at one of the optional meets.
Straehle (July 26th, Padonia Park Club)
Sign-ups are live for Straehle and due by the end of the CCI meet, Wednesday evening. We will accept late registration for our swimmers who qualify at our 7/22 home meet, those sign-ups being due by the end of that meet. Warm-ups are at 7:15am, the meet starts at 9am, and the relays are slated to start at noon. If your swimmer made a relay time, but you don’t know if they’ve been selected for the relay team yet, please still RSVP if they can attend or not.
Straehle t-shirt orders are due Tuesday, July 18th by 7:15pm.
As a reminder: this meet is open to swimmers that have made the Straehle qualifying times. While this includes relays, we base our selections off the top four times in the age group and whether they were on a qualifying relay. Just being in a qualifying relay does not necessarily guarantee that your swimmer will be swimming at the Straehle meet.
Note: All families with swimmers in individual meets at Straehle are required to volunteer at the meet.
Divisional Championships (July 29th, Rollingwood)
Sign-ups are live for divisionals; please declare your swimmer ASAP. Coaches will select the line up, but please declare even if you’re not sure if your swimmer will be selected. Warm-ups will begin at 8am and the meet starts at 9am.
Note: Families who attend any optional meets are expected to complete one more volunteer point at one of the optional meets.
End of Year Banquet (July 29th, Westminster City Pool)
Our banquet will be held at home this year from 5:30pm to 8pm. Please RSVP here so we can start planning for how many families can attend. We will supply main dishes and cake and will be sending out a sign-up genius soon for sides and desserts. Please bring your own drinks and chairs.
