Kayleigh Kozlowski Head Coach/Age Group Coach 13&Up

We are excited to welcome back Kayleigh Kozlowski as our Head Coach for the 2022 season! With her swim experience including swimming Trails and part of the Trails coaching staff for five years, she is more than equipped to carry on the Trails traditions of keeping our team fun and competitive for all levels. Kayleigh started swimming with Trails when she was 12 and continued until she was 18. She swam with the DeKalb County Swim Team for four years and for DeKalb High School varsity team for four years where she was voted Captain for two of those years. Kayleigh has multiple state medals.

Kayleigh previously worked as lifeguard and swim instructor for Lifetime Fitness, teaching lessons to swimmers of all ages. She was also Head Coach of a Lifetime Swim Team and Fayatteville Athletic Club in Arkansas. Kayleigh has been a big supporter of all swimmers, helping them to hone their technique and is passionate about swimming. Kayleigh stays active at the gym and is a certified personal traininer.

Elle McKinney Age Group Coach 11-12

We are excited to welcome Elle back to Trails as the 11/12 age group coach! Elle fell in love with swimming on the Trails Swim Team, starting when she was 10 years old. She loves the traditions such as the Riverbottom run, ice cream sundae day (plus all the other Fun Fridays!) and the end of the season celebration. She also swam on the varsity Dundee Crown Swim Team and served as senior captain in 2019. After graduating high school, Elle began attending Western Kentucky University as a political science major with minors in legal studies and criminology, and she is very involved in the Mahurin Honors College. Elle previously worked as an assistant manager, lifeguard and lesson instructor at the Algonquin Pool. She also volunteered as an assistant coach at Dundee Dolphins. She is looking forward to giving the kids so many hugs and cheering them on at both practice and meets!

Grace Kozlowski Age Group Coach 9-10
Grace started swimming with Trails when she was 5 years old. Her swim career includes 10 years on the DCST swim team in DeKalb, four years on the varsity high school team and 13 years on the Trails swim team. Grace served as team captain two years in high school, has multiple state medals and a few Trails records that were recently broken. Grace currently attends Hope College in Michigan where she is pursuing a double major in Psychology and German and a Neuroscience minor. Grace loves the balance of competitiveness and team spirit that Trails offers and can’t wait to help others learn to love swimming as much as she does.

Fiona Lukes Age Group Coach 8&Under

We are excited to welcome back Fiona as the Age Group coach for the 8&Unders! Fiona started swimming in 2011 with the Dundee Dolphins and swam varsity with Dundee-Crown High School. After high school, Fiona attended Carroll University for a year and swam at the collegiate level for the 100 free and 200 free. She currently attends University of Illinois at Chicago, and she is studying chemical engineering. Over the summer she’ll also be working at Home Depot. She previously worked as a swim instructor at the Dundee Park District for 4 years. Fiona is looking forward to sharing her love for swim and encouraging kids to finish every set, even when they don't want to, because in order to grow, you have to go through every difficult thing.

Ryne Quinlan 13up Dryland/Volunteer Asisst
We are excited to welcome back Ryne Quinlan as a volunteer coach for this summer! Ryne will be applying his military training for three 13up drylands, as well as assisting at evening stroke clinics for June. Ryne originally started as a Trails swimmer at age six in 2000. He swam with Trails for 12 consecutive summers. You will see his name in the Trails recordbook! Ryne swam on the varsity swim team at Jacobs High school for four years and served as Captain of the team as a sophomore, junior, and senior.  His senior year, he qualified for the IHSA High School State Meet in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Freestyle, as well as the 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle Relay.
After high school, Ryne attended the University of Notre Dame, where he participated in Army ROTC and received a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Accounting before moving on to work as a consultant in Chicago. Ryne recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School and serves as a First Lieutenant in the Illinois Army National Guard.
