The lead coach for the Youth Performance squad is Sheldon Kemp. Swimmers will be members of the HPK Swim Club and most will have graduated from Age Performance. Most swimmers will be between the ages of 14-18 years. 


Key Goals (Train to Train and Train to Compete)

The key goal of this group is to perform well at National Age Groups and qualify for NZ Open Nationals. Training begins to become specialised. Swimmers will be challenged to compete at high levels under various environments. They will learn advanced physical, technical and tactical skills. Development of autonomy, independence & individual responsibility becomes important while learning to manage lifestyles.



Monday-Friday 4-6pm and Monday-Friday 5:30-8.00am, along with Saturday 5:30-8:30am all at Pakuranga College. Swimmers are expected to train for 16+ hours per week.Strength and conditioning is included in your fees and run by our specialist S&C team of coaches and interns. Two land training sessions per week are a requirement for this group.
