The Short Course Division 3 (part 3) was held at the Shing Mun Valley Swimming Pool on Saturday 18th March. HWI-SCA sent over 60 swimmers to race at this meet, and had good results. Big thanks to Lam Hoi Ching Summer, and McFarland Charlotte Chia-Ju who presently study in the U.S.A. They originally planned their return to Hong Kong to prepare for the short course championship which was then postponed; so they used this competition instead. Congratulations to two of our Performance swimmers!! Elizabeth Li on selection to the HK national team competing in the Guandong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area competition 25-26th March. Our coach Chui Wai Chun is also selected as one of the accompanying national coaches. Coach Carli Botha is off to Denmark! Sadly for HWI, Coach Carli is leaving Hong Kong to accompany her partner to Copenhagen! HWI SPRINT MEET 25TH FEBRUARY WEST ISLAND SCHOOL It was fantastic to be able to hold our first HWI sprint meet at West Island school, after such a long period of Covid restrictions. Over 90 swimmers from our Developement squads (those 12yrs or under from Gold, Silver and Bronze) were able to take part in 50m events of Fly, Back, Breast and Free, gaining valuable experience of racing, diving from blocks under a real 'competition' experience. HWI-SCAA Head Coach Michael Fasching attended a Swim Camp with the Korean Junior National Team this weekend! February 11-12, 2023. MungYeong, Korea The Swimming Association of Korea and the Korean Olympic Committee invited Coach Mike to coach and present lectures to Korea‘s best age group swimmers from over the weekend of 11-12th February.
