Underwater Analysis 1 – 1 sessions
Our brand new underwater video analysis is the ultimate tool in the coaches arsenal. It is suitable for any level of swimmer who wants to see exactly what they are doing under the water. Whether you are learning to swim, an Age Group team swimmer, or a triathlete of any kind, the underwater analysis will give you access to specific technical input that is unavailable above the water.
Underwater analysis gives both coach and swimmer the chance to identify the strengths and weaknesses in the propulsive parts of your stroke. Our coaches are highly trained and experienced in coaching all four strokes, including starts and turns, as well as open water specific swimming.
It is and incredibly powerful to see yourself swimming under the water. More often than not our mental image of how we are moving our body is incorrect, and there is no hiding any weaknesses in your stroke from the camera. Using our top of the line SwimPro camera system and the skills and expertise of our professional coaches we will highlight the technical changes that you need to bring your swimming to the next level.
HD footage – All footage will be 1080p HD footage shot with our top of the line SwimPro cameras.
We believe in giving our clients flexibility, and as such we give you options for how your session runs – whether you prefer to be filmed an additional time after receiving feedback from your coach, or if you want to spend the time to address what was viewed through drills and technique work. You will be given a written feedback from the coach along with the video via a USB within a week of your session.

Schedule:
Due to the nature of an underwater analysis it will only be available at very specific times to ensure privacy of all pool users.
For HWI swim team swimmers we can offer times during training at SCAA.

All 1 on 1 underwater analysis run for 60 minutes.
Standard Swim U/W analysis:
Standard single stroke swim (does not include dive and turns):

The standard swim analysis is for one stroke.
Procedure:
- Swimmer is recorded from the front, the side, and above the water.
- The swimmer then comes out of the water and coach takes the swimmer through the strengths and weaknesses of their stroke using the footage. Coaches will break the stroke down into specific key points for the swimmers to work on.
- Option time – we believe in flexibility for our clients. At this point you may choose whether you would like to get back into the water and the coach will give you specific drills related to the previously viewed stroke, or whether you would prefer to do another round of filming.
- Within a week of the session you will be sent a USB with the edited footage from your session.
Race Starts & Turns analysis:
Standard starts & turns (includes breakout, does not include stroke):

Annotation & Voiceover added directly to video (annotation added to only one turn per stroke on final video) - additional $200 per turn to above prices
The standard starts & turns analysis is traditionally for one stroke, but can be adapted for multiple, but will result in less footage of each stroke. These sessions are relatively flexible, and it can be discussed with coach in advance where the focus should be.
Procedure:
- Swimmer is recorded by stationary cameras diving from the block from the side, and underwater from the side.
- The swimmer then comes out of the water and coach takes the swimmer through the strengths and weaknesses of both the dive, entry, and underwater phase of their stroke.
- Swimmer then returns to the block to dive in the same way as before, and can be filmed 2 – 3 times.
- Focus will then be given to turns. Swimmer can be filmed from 2 - 3 angles simultaneously.
- Swimmer will then come out of the water, review the footage with coach and be given the opportunity to return to the water to be filmed an additional time.
- Within a week of the session you will be sent a USB with the edited footage from your session.
Elite U/W analysis:
Elite: All strokes including turns - $3500. Two week turnaround time for footage.
$3000 for HWI Swimmers
$3500 for Non HWI Swimmers
The Elite U/W analysis is for all four strokes and includes dives and turns. There will be no direct technical feedback during this session.
Procedure:
Swimmers will be filmed in each stroke:
3 x 25m from the front,
3 x 25m from the side,
3 x turn from the side (stationary),
2 x I.M. turns from the side (stationary),
4 x dive (1 x per stroke, stationary from side above water) & U/W phase (stationary U/W)
