Summer Learn-to-Row Program - Grades 6-12

Here’s your chance to learn about the sport of rowing, get fit, make new friends, and have fun in the sun. While you spend most of your time on the water, you also get special training on land and learn all about the boats and equipment.

The summer program coaches will focus on the fundamentals of the rowing stroke and boat safety. Participants will learn the importance of communications and cooperative effort for rowing fundamentals.

Many summer learn-to-row participants continue to train and row with Niskayuna Rowing’s competitive programs and compete in fall regattas. After two weeks, you’ll really know what it takes to be a competitive rower and if the sport is right for you!

Learn-to-Row is for athletes entering grades 6-12 who have no previous rowing experience. Mon-Fri 8:30 - 11:30 AM at the Niskayuna Rowing Boathouse. There are four two-week sessions to choose from each summer, beginning in late June.
