The Coach Team:

Head Coach + Pacific Rays Coach: Bronwyn Tarrant

The Tarrant name is no stranger to the clubs in Region E. Bronwyn and her siblings began swimming with the High River Otters, swimming under their mom, Rose Tarrant, who was the Head Coach of the club for years. Bronwyn finished her swimming with the Calgary Tritons where she consistently achieved success as a point leader at meets, medaled at ASSA Provincials and competed in several Alberta Summer games trials. Bronwyn was able to share her deep love of swimming as she transitioned as a coach with the Calgary Tritons. We are very excited to have Bronwyn lead the Stingrays as our Head Coach this year.

Atlantic Rays: Robert Knox

Rob Knox is another swimmer who’s family name is no stranger to the swimming world. Most known for his brother Finlay Knox's success representing Canada at International meets (including most recently the Tokyo Olympics) and the International Swimming League. Rob grew up swimming with the Foothills Stingrays (now Okotoks Mavericks) Swim Club and competed at the highest levels, His mother, Abby who also competed at international levels, is a coach with the Mavericks. He achieved much success with the Stingrays until an injury altered his plans. Today, he is an avid amateur boxer, lifeguard and formidable swim instructor with the Okotoks Rec Center, while also coaching with the Mavericks Swim club. He is excited to share his passion of swimming, strategies of excellence in mental/physical fitness and bringing his years of competitive experience to help his swimmers reach their goals.

Manta Rays: William Whaley

Better known as Will, grew up swimming with the Stingrays. Will was an incredibly strong swimmer and often found himself a point leader at swim meets and medaled at ASSA Provincials. Will spent his last years with the Mavericks Swim Club where he continued to find great success. It is always a great joy when one of our own Stingrays’ can graduate into a coach. Will joined our coaching staff in 2021 and we are happy to have him back.

Galaxy Rays + Tiger Rays: Cassidy Behm

Cassidy Behm is no stranger to the Stingrays Coaching Team. Last year her sunshine personality dazzled all the swimmers and parents who came to know her.  She swam with the Canmore Riptides for years before moving to Okotoks, where she worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor with the Okotoks Rec Center. We are elated to have her join the coaching team as one of our foundational for the Galaxy Rays + Tiger Rays.
