Thunder Board of Directors


Coach Chris Cullen, Club Director  Coachcullen@thunderpolo.com

Chris has been with Thunder since its founding in 2009 and is the leader of all day to day operations of the club. His daughter is a Thunder graduate playing NCAA water polo and his son will be heading off to college to play ball in another year.  Chris is also the Chair of the TISCA water polo board as well as the Head Women’s ODP coach for the Southwest Zone.

A member of Thunder since 2013, Kristy is a mother of four children, one Thunder graduate now playing NCAA water polo, and one Age Group athlete. She has been the Thunder Treasurer for 5 years and is a Board member for USA Water Polo’s Southwest Zone. She also volunteers her time and bookkeeping for Riding Unlimited a therapeutic riding center in Ponder TX. With a background in accounting and business management she brings organization with fiscal responsibility to the Club.

Jerry McBride, Vice President  Vicepresident@thunderpolo.com

Jerry recently retired after serving 30 years in the Air Force. During his service he was appointed as an Air Force Fitness Program Manager and Group Exercise Leader. Sports and fitness have always played a role in his life, off-duty he worked as a personal trainer and volunteered as an assistant coach for flag football. He has two sons that both play on Thunder national teams.

Scott has been supporting Thunder Water Polo since 2016 as a volunteer and is the parent of two daughters one is a Thunder Age Group athlete.  Outside of Thunder, he is a Global Client Director for a human capital consulting firm in Dallas.  Scott will be the first point of contact for all parents interested in volunteering on a Thunder committee.

Gabriela Pena, Treasurer  Treasurer@thunderpolo.com

Gabriela Pena has contributed as treasurer for PVSD and AAYF in SoCal from 2013-2015. In 2016 she became a certified Personal Finance Facilitator. She has three Thunder athletes (Pablo 18U, Tomas 16U, and David 14U). She has a bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and graduated with honors.

Jason started as a parent volunteer for Thunder Water Polo in 2015 when his daughter joined the club as a Thunder Age Group athlete. In addition to his work with Thunder Water Polo he is also an active volunteer with Christian Community Action (CCA) food bank.  He and his wife split their time between the pool and the gym where their other daughter is a gymnast.  In his professional career, he is the Division Director of Application Services, for Medical City Healthcare responsible for the clinical and non-clinical application support for the Medical City network of hospitals.
