Possible Weather Issues on Friday:  There looks to be lots of rain in the forecast for Thursday-Saturday in North Texas.  Please plan accordingly on Friday morning to give yourself enough time to get to the airport and get to the departure gate to meet the coaches one hour prior to the flight departing.  The weather may also delay some flights on Friday morning (hopefully not).  If you are delayed on Friday morning, please contact the coaches on your flight directly (see contact info below).  I have also listed each coaches flight confirmation just in case you need this for the airline for minors traveling without parents.  As needed, any changes to plans will be sent via Twitter (see details below) and email when possible.

Coach Flight Option #1 (Southwest Airlines):  Coach Stephanie Klocke (HMJQXC) & Coach Sabrina Carlile.  Check in with Coach Stephanie (817-980-1563) at 6:00 am at the departure gate at Dallas Love Field.
Coach Flight Option #2 (American Airlines):  Coach Joe Linehan (YRADHW).  Please check in with Coach Joe (713-705-0945) at 6:05am at the departure gate at DFW Airport.
Coach Flight Option #3 (Virgin/American Airlines):  Coach Troy Goddard (EMJOYJ).  Please check in with Coach Troy (214-755-8101) at 6:05 am at the departure gate at Dallas Love Field.

Twitter for Navy Tournament:  The Thunder teams are off to the Navy Tournament this Friday, October 23rd.  Thunder Water Polo will have a Twitter account for parents, family and friends to follow along with the teams in Annapolis.  The team coaches will be sending out score and team updates throughout the event (simple and easy, you will not receive unnecessary texts).  Not on Twitter?  No problem.  Below are the directions for people to sign-up below (either through your cell phone or on the computer).  Everyone can either follow online at www.twitter.com/ThunderPolo or get texts through their cell phones (to view online, you do NOT need to register).
Already on Twitter?  Text to 40404, send “follow ThunderPolo”, and follow directions.  Online, go to www.twitter.com/ThunderPolo and click “follow”.  When/if you want to stop following, you can just text "off ThunderWaterPolo" to 40404.
New to Twitter?  Text to 40404 and send “follow ThunderPolo”.  Via texts, you will be asked to set-up an account (user name and password).  Online, go to www.twitter.com/ThunderPolo, to register as a Twitter user, activate your mobile phone in your profile, and then click “follow” at the ThunderPolo twitter site.

What to Wear?  We would like everyone to bring their Thunder team suits, team gear, jackets, t-shirts, etc. to properly represent the team this weekend in Annapolis.  The high this weekend in Annapolis will be in the 60’s with lows in the 40’s.  Athletes will need to bring appropriate clothing (jackets, long sleeve t-shirts, pants/jeans, closed toe shoes, etc.).  We will be walking around the campus,  walking from pool to pool, walking from the campus to downtown, etc.  Therefore, the athletes will be outside and everyone should be prepared accordingly.   For Friday, we would like everyone to wear their Thunder Collared Black Shirt.  If you do not have this collared t-shirt, that is OK and please wear your black Thunder short sleeve t-shirt or another collared black shirt (non-Thunder).  On Saturday, everyone will wear their long sleeve Navy Tournament Thunder T-shirt (given out this week to everyone).  On Sunday, we want everyone to wear one of their Thunder short sleeve t-shirts (if you do not have one of these, please wear something similar).

Navy Tournament T-shirts:  The Navy Tournament T-shirts will be handed out at the National Program Boys Practice on Tuesday night in Flower Mound, the local Southlake Practice on Wednesday, and the National Program Girls Practice on Thursday night in Flower Mound.  For those that do not pick up their t-shirts over the next couple of days, your t-shirts will be given out to everyone on Friday in Annapolis.

Photo ID's:  All athletes need to bring their photo ID's on the trip.  First, the athletes will need this to check in for their flights at the airport/security, but they will also need a photo ID to walk onto/off campus at the Naval Academy.  If you do not have a government issued ID and/or Passport, please being a school ID or at the very least your USA Water Polo ID with the photo.

Tournament Location:  The Naval Academy pool facilities are among the finest in the country. Included are four indoor 25x20 meter all-deep pools and one shallow pool all with floating goals. The address for the Naval Academy is 121 Blake Road, Annapolis, MD.  The home page for the Naval Academy is http://www.usna.edu/homepage.php.  Please click here for Naval Academy Campus Map.  Please click here for the Visitor’s Link for the Naval Academy (includes parking information for visitors).

Team Hotel Information:  Best Western Annapolis, 2520 Riva Road, Annapolis, MD, 410-224-2800.

Ground Transportation/Campus Entry:  All athletes will be traveling in team vans driven by team leaders (parents) and/or coaches. We have rented four vans for the trip (all 12 passenger vans, Budget).  Please remember, parents on the trip will need to rent their own vehicles.  Athletes will be riding back and forth to the pool in the Team Vans (there is not room for parents in the team vans).  Lastly, the only vehicles which will be able to travel onto the Naval Academy campus will be the team vans.  All parent vehicles will need to park off campus and then the parents/family will need to walk onto the Academy.  To enter onto Campus, parents will need to park close to Gate 1 (along St. King George Ave or Parking Garages downtown Annapolis) and access the Naval Academy through the visitor's entrance.  Please click here for Naval Academy Campus Map.  Please click here for the Visitor’s Link for the Naval Academy (includes parking information for visitors).
