NOTE:  It is VERY important that EVERYONE brings their PROOF OF GRADE IN SCHOOL and PHOTO ID with them on Friday and give a copy of it to the coaches.  You will NOT be able to play unless you bring this to the pool this Friday (see highlighted section below).

On Friday morning, we need everyone to arrive and check in with the coaches one hour prior to their first game (tell admissions you are with Thunder Water Polo;  you will get your deck pass when you check in with the coaches).  We would like all Thunder Water Polo athletes to wear the Thunder Specific TYR Champs Cup T-shirt on Friday, the Gray Thunder T-shirt on Saturday, and the Black Thunder T-shirt on Sunday (and of course, the Thunder team suit on all three days).  Thunder Girls should also bring/wear Thunder Water Polo latex caps (bring one white and one dark cap).  If you do not already have a Thunder team suit, Thunder t-shirts and/or latex team caps (for the girls), you will be able to purchase the team gear in the front lobby of the pool this weekend (at the admissions table).  NOTE:  It is VERY important that EVERYONE brings their PROOF OF GRADE IN SCHOOL and PHOTO ID with them on Friday and give a copy of it to the coaches.  You will NOT be able to play unless you bring this to the pool this Friday (see highlighted section below).

Admissions:  The cost for admission this weekend is $15 for a one day pass, $35 for a Friday-Sunday pass, $25 for Saturday-Sunday pass, $5 for a one day pass for Students age 11-18, and children 10 & younger are FREE.    Thunder Water Polo athletes playing in the tournament will not need to pay admission for the event.   

Photo ID’s/Proof Of Grade:  If you have not done so already, we need all Thunder Water Polo athletes playing at Champions Cup next week to download a Photo ID at www.usawaterpolo.org.  This process only takes a couple of minutes (login at website, click the download photo button, and follow the instructions).  We also need athletes/parents to BRING with them to the tournament a Photo ID and Proof of Grade in School.  Photo ID examples are a copy of their USA Water Polo membership card (with photo), a school picture ID, a government issued photo ID, and/or Passport.  Proof of Grade in School examples are school issued photo ID with grade on it, letter from school indicating their year in school, and/or a school issued document such as a class schedule, progress report, or report card.  PLEASE BRING THESE ITEMS TO THE TOURNAMENT AND GIVE A COPY OF THEM TO THE COACHES ON Friday – NOVEMBER 13TH WHEN THE ATHLETES ARRIVE.

TYR Champions Cup Basic Itinerary:  On Friday - November 13th, all athletes will need to arrive one hour prior to their first game and check in with their coaches and receive their deck passes/credentials.  The coaches will be at the pool all day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  The Team Parents will be coordinating snacks, meals, etc. for between games each day.  Athletes will be free to come and go as needed to get meals, etc.  The coaches will tell all athletes where to meet and when to be back for their next game.  All of the athletes will meet as a team, warm-up together before each game, play the game, meet after each game, and designate when to meet for the next game.  Both teams (girls and boys) will pay two games on Friday, 2-3 games on Saturday, and 1-2 games on Sunday.  The game times will be set for Friday and then the Saturday/Sunday game times will be dependent on the previous day’s results.  

Champions Cup Online Volunteer Sign-up Link (Admissions, Pool Set-Up, & Hospitality):  Thunder Water Polo is hosting the USA Water Polo TYR Champions Cup.  We will need Parent/Athletes to volunteer and sign-up to help with hospitality, Admissions, Pool Set-up, Break Down, etc. for the event.  There are two primary links for signing up online (one for Admissions, Pool Set-up, Clean-Up and one for hospitality). Team Parents:  Shelley Leih (Andrew's mother) and Nichole Carter (Cayleigh's mother) will be the Team Parents for the Thunder teams at the TYR Champions Cup.  The weekend will be busy weekend for everyone regarding playing, volunteering, etc.  The Team Parents will work with the Thunder team coaches, athletes, and parents to coordinate meals, snacks, and a possible team dinner (on Saturday night).  The team parents will be around for all the games for their respective teams and we hope this will be a team effort between everyone involved.  Their primary contact information is below:

Online Registration/Payment for Champs Cup:  Please complete the Online Registration/Payment process for the Champions Cup at the Thunder Water Polo website, http://www.thunderpolo.com.  Select the Champions Cup Tournament at the Thunder Water Polo Events Page (you can also access this at the bottom of the "home page”).  Once at the Champions Cup Event Page, please click the “Online Registration” button and follow the online instructions.  Payments can be arranged when signing up online (credit card, mailing in a check, etc.).  The athlete entry fee for the Champions Cup is $75.
