Hi All, I want to send a quick update on the Reno Aquatic Club TYR order for those that purchased product last month. I spoke with Conejo Swimworks. They said they received all the TYR products and were going to take it to the screen/embroidery shop and then California shut down. As soon as businesses are allowed to reopen, they will get the gear printed and shipped out ASAP. They apologize for the delay and inconvenience. Thank you! Ryan

Good Morning, I hope you and your family are healthy and safe during this time. Although there is still no firm date for our return to the pool, I am looking forward to getting back to normal! The coaches have been providing suggested workouts to all groups. Please note: these workouts are optional and the swimmers assume their own risk if they choose to do the suggested workouts. You can access these workouts by joining the Reno Aquatic Club Facebook group or checking the home workout page on our website....

Hi Sophomore Swimmers and Parents, If you are interested in swimming in college, now would be a great time to start the process. Here’s a quick list of things you can do to be proactive in the recruiting process: 1. Register with the NCAA - http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/eligibility_center/Student_Resources/Registration_Checklist.pdf 2. Establish a collegeswimming.com account and make sure your information is accurate. Coaches I’ve talked with say collegeswimming.com is the place they go to gather info on potential recruits. Be sure your email/phone is correct and listed in your account. Also, be sure your...

Good Morning, I hope everyone is doing well. I am excited to share a couple things we are doing as a team to keep everyone connected during our shutdown. First, I have created a Facebook group for all active members of RENO to join. Thank you to Coach Julie for the suggestion. The Facebook group will be our primary method of communicating workout suggestions for our age-group program (Mini, Blue, White, Orange, and Pre-Senior groups). We will also be posting other fun swimming and non-swimming related content. Please feel free...

Good Afternoon, While we are unable to practice, I will continue to send workouts that swimmers can do on their own. During this time, in order to create more of a community and accountability among the swimmers, I would like each swimmer in the Senior and National group to sign-up for a Strava account. It’s free to have an account. The swimmers can download the app on their smartphones or just use a computer. Strava is used mainly by cyclists and runners, but you can also manually input activities (example:...

Good Evening, I hope everyone is doing well during these trying times. Although we are facing a difficult challenge, it’s important to do our best to remain as optimistic as possible! Our exact return date to the pool is uncertain. As far as I know, we will not be able to practice for a minimum of a month. Hopefully, we will be back to normal then. If not, I will do my best to keep you updated. The best part of Reno Aquatic Club is being a part of a...

Good Morning, With all pools being shut down, we have created more specific dryland workouts for our Senior and National groups. We are working on the workouts for the rest of the team as well. For those swimmers in the Senior group who have been doing limited dryland, they can scale down the workouts to their ability. Please let us know if you have any questions. Please have your swimmer send me a message when they complete each day's workout. In addition to the workouts, the swimmers can foam roll...

Hello Reno Aquatic Club, WOW! Thank you to everyone for helping us crush our Swim-4-Funds goal. Together, we raised $14,332! And together we swam over 184 miles! The group award of highest participation rate goes to the Pre-Senior group, with 87% of swimmers raising funds. The group award of most money raised (on average) also goes to the Pre-Senior group with a donation average of $238/person. The Pre-Senior group will earn a pizza party and get to design a workout and/or games for practice, which will be scheduled when practices...

Good Afternoon, Parents of Senior and National Swimmers – As you know, we are in uncharted territories with sports across the entire country and world. It has been a crazy few days and this week will be remembered for a long time. I am looking forward to getting through this national emergency and getting back to focused training. Making the decision to cancel practice tonight, tomorrow and the 2nd week of spring break was a very difficult but necessary. In the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt it was...

Hi All, Given the growing concerns regarding the spread of COVID-19, Christine Aramini, RENO’s President, and I have made the difficult decision to cancel ALL swim practice effective tomorrow, March 13 through Sunday, March 29. We are hoping to resume normal practice schedule on Monday, March 30. We did not take this decision lightly, but the safety of our swimmers, coaches, parents, and community needs to be the main priority. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Christine (scadamini@sbcglobal.net / (775) 544-3864) or myself. I will do...
