Show Your Support for a New Pool (Again)!

Ryan Evans

Good Afternoon,

Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics sent out an email earlier today regarding the new Moana pool. In case you did not receive it, please see below.

SNCA is asking for one more show of support from the aquatic community via public comment and emails to City Council. These messages do make a big difference! Over the years, councilmembers have noted the significant number of comments they receive in favor of a new aquatic facilities. Please take a few minutes to submit public comment and help the City of Reno get a new pool.

Thank you!

Message from Sierra Nevada Community Aquatics:

Help get a new Moana Aquatic Center underway!
The Reno City Council will be considering the commitment of $9.7 Million to the Moana Springs Aquatic Center  this coming Wednesday, April 14th. The City's commitment would allow the development of a well-appointed modern aquatics and fitness center at the Moana Springs Park to finally get underway.
The potential funding of the Moana Pool will now be coming before Council as an  action item rather than the workshop discussion that was to have occurred late last month.
As the Council will be voting, it is  critical that aquatics enthusiasts express a broad level of support for the $9.7 Million funding of the Moana Springs Aquatic and Fitness Center.
Please take a few moments to share your support with the Council and help make this desperately needed facility a reality.
The most efficient way to show your support is by  [click link]  completing the City of Reno Public Comment Form.
Please provide your comments by 4PM Tuesday, April 11th so they will be on record prior to the start of the meeting. Make your comment under  agenda item D.4 for the April 14th City Council Meeting  (Item D.4 Staff Report).
Be sure your comment notes you are  in support of the staff recommendation for approval of the plan for $9.7 Million in capital funding for the Moana Pool presented in Agenda Item D.4.
Alternatively, e-mailed comments in support of the funding plan for the Moana Pool may be sent by following this  link to a  preaddressed e-mail to the City Clerk and Council Members. Should the link not be compatible with your e-mail system following are the addresses to copy and paste in an e-mail.
Please invest in our aquatic future by making your voice heard. It does make an impact and will play a key role in moving a new aquatic center forward.
Thank you for your continued support in bringing Reno the first new public aquatic center in over 4 decades!
