Level 1

Reno Aquatic Club (RENO) has served the Reno community since 1973. RENO is the premier competitive swim team in Northern Nevada. Athletes ages 5 and up compete at the local, regional, and national level. RENO alumni include multiple national and NCAA competitors, as well as Olympic Trial qualifiers who are FINA World Ranked.

RENO is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt member of USA Swimming and Pacific Swimming, Inc., and is administered by a voluntary board of directors elected by our members.

RENO has an expert coaching staff.  All of our coaches are members of USA Swimming and American Swim Coaches Association.  All are certified in Red Cross First Aid, CPR/AED, and Coaches Safety Training.  Our coaches attend seminars and clinics to keep up to date with the latest techniques and rules in swimming.

RENO's mission is to Develop Champions in Life Through Excellence in Swimming. We want to develop successful competitive swimmers while having fun, making lifelong memories, and creating positive habits that can be applied outside of the pool.

RENO is designed to encompass and develop all who participate. We divide the team by age and ability levels. Practice schedules and group placements are determined by the coaching staff with the goal of meeting the swimmer’s individual needs for success.

Coaching of our newest and/or youngest swimmers is oriented towards the development of swimming basics, including the four strokes, turns, and starts. Early development of the competitive swimmer emphasizes enjoyment of the sport. Work on technique and fitness is balanced with a certain amount of fun and games. More experienced swimmers are exposed to increased conditioning and advanced training concepts including mental preparation, cross training, and nutrition.
