Winter Program

The RSTA Winter Swim program offers swimmers the opportunity to continue their swim development during the colder months (September through May).  The program is hosted at the Reston Community Center.  Coaches work with swimmers to improve their stroke technique and endurance.  The program is broken into two sessions: Fall (Sept - Dec), Spring (Jan - May).

Within each session, there are classes aimed at different age/skill groups.

Sunday Night Class (Ages 6-10)

Perfect for younger swimmers, this program focuses on developing proper stroke technique. In the 25 meter pool, swimmers can learn and practice the four competitive strokes. All coaches work on deck and in the water with the swimmers to improve their technique.  This is not a basic swim instruction class and instead is intended to help swimmers learn to improve competitive legal strokes.

Tuesday/Thursday Class (Ages 8/9 and up)

This program focuses on improving proper stroke technique and endurance. All coaches work on deck and in the water with the swimmers to improve their technique.
