Policies for Fall 2021 session participants:

This is not a learn-to-swim program. Swimmers registering for a Fall Swim session should be able to swim the length of the pool, unassisted for the full duration of the practice; this program is ideal for swimmers who have previously participated in summer swim team or equivalent lessons. Swimmers registering for New Wave are expected to have basic swimming skills; this program will focus on improving technique while building endurance and confidence to ready swimmers for summer swim team.

Please note the following:

  • If you are sick, stay home.
  • Follow RCC guidelines for entering and exiting the building.
  • Plan for swimmers to enter and leave the facility in their bathing suits; showers and lockers are not accessible. In addition, please plan to assist your children with any swim gear (caps, goggles, etc.) before dropping them off, as coaches and peers will have limited ability to assist with anything requiring physical contact.
  • Restrooms will be available for limited use only.
  • Arrive 5 minutes early to sign in, and plan to leave the deck and the facility immediately after practice. Reston Masters Swim Team follows directly after us, and we need to clear the pool deck for their practice.
  • Parents are not allowed on deck due to the limited seating area.
  • Pool equipment will be available; please do not bring any.
  • Lanes will be arranged by ability and not by age.
  • Regarding face masks: Please follow the guidance established by the RCC and Fairfax County.
