Policies for Winter/Spring 2021 session participants:
We will require that all participants be able to swim on their own, unassisted the length of the pool during the entire practice. They must also be proficient in all strokes and must be legal in at least half of them. This is a swim team program and not swim lessons. We are focusing on improving good stroke technique and endurance and are not teaching swimmers how to swim. It is critical that we have swimmers of similar skill and speed in each lane to keep the practices working successfully and ensure social distancing. We plan to have lanes divided by skill and speed, so it’s possible that age groups will be mixed.  If we determine that a swimmer is not able to adhere to these requirements or does not maintain proper distancing and etiquette during the practice, the swimmer may be removed from the program without refund.
  • Health screenings will be required before every practice via an online form.
  • If you are sick, stay home.
  • Follow RCC guidelines for entering and exiting the building. A more detailed letter will be sent to registered participants.
  • Plan for swimmers to enter and leave the facility in their bathing suits; showers and lockers are not accessible. In addition, please plan to assist your children with any swim gear (caps, goggles, etc.) before dropping them off, as coaches and peers will not be permitted to assist one another with anything requiring physical contact.
  • Restrooms will be available for emergency use only.
  • Arrive 5 minutes early to sign in, and plan to leave the deck and the facility immediately after practice.
  • Parents are not allowed to enter the pool deck or remain anywhere in the facility during the practice.
  • Coaches will not be assisting any swimmers in the water during the practice.
  • Pool equipment will be available.
  • Each swimmer will have an assigned starting point in an assigned lane and will use that position throughout the practice.
  • All swimmers must adhere to social distancing guidelines throughout the practice, both in and out of the water, and be respectful to all coaches and fellow swimmers during practice.
  • Facial masks are required entering and exiting the building. They can be removed immediately prior to entering the water and must be put back on immediately upon exiting the water.
